Ser Pounce-a-lot

I first saw Ser Pounce in the shadows frantically rubbing his ears on a concrete outcropping by a river. It was dark and it was hard to tell whether or not my eyes were deceiving me. The kitten appeared tiny; bones protruding from his back, his huge ears sticking out of a tiny head, large beady eyes stared back at me. He has a small and wistful meow that pierced the soul; I knew he needed my help. I assumed approaching this emaciated creature would be in vain, he was starved, covered and ear mites (they were so bad I could see the gunk from afar) I thought for sure he would run from a human. But when Ser Pounce saw me instead of running away he ran toward me, he pawed at my hands and demanded that I love him, it was not a hard demand to satisfy. I took him with me, being on my bike (far away from home) it was no easy task. I put Ser Pounce in my backpack for the first few minutes the teeny kitten rode on my back but I decided that it would be better if I let him ride up front. So I strapped my backpack on my chest and let Ser Pounce stick his little head out of a small opening. Ser Pounce meowed somewhat fearfully at first, but soon decided that the ride was actually somewhat enjoyable. He would watch passersby with great interest and wondrously stare at the ground ahead as we rode. When I got him home Ser Pounce wasted no time in exploring the room I had placed him in, he was readily pouncing on all the toys and chasing my feet around when I walked. The ride and the apparently rough life he had in no way bothered little Pounce, he has pounced back from his unfortunate beginning to become the bright little ball of energy he is today.

Ser Pounce has integrated perfectly into my home; he loves my other cats, who have become his best friends. Pounce routinely sleeps next to my husband and loves to kiss (yes kiss) people like a small dog. He is tremendously playful, very adorable and enjoys being pet and brushed. Pounce gets along with everyone; he enjoys the company of small children, cats, dogs and small animals (with supervision). Ser Pounce-a-lot enjoys his kitty toys, his favorite being a fur mousey toy. He loves and uses the scratching boards I provide to sharpen his teeny tiny claws after which Pounce can be found ruling a kitty fortress from within a cardboard box. After his kitty battles are won Ser Pounce suckles on a blanket while purring like a little tractor to celebrate his victory.

Ser Pounce-a-lot is on a diet of dry kitten food and an occasional can of wet food as a treat. He enjoys all sorts of cat food; I have introduced him to different varieties. Because I had no trouble introducing Pounce to different foods he has gained a very healthy amount of weight and is no longer emaciated. When found Pounce had a terrible eat mite infestation but now (after medication) they are gone and he no longer has to suffer such a discomfort. Ser Pounce has been given preventative medication for worms, ticks, heartworms, ear mites and fleas. Pounce is parasite free. He is between four and five months old.

I am leaving Korea VERY soon so it is vital that Ser Pounce-a-lot finds a foster or permanent home. The adoption fee of 50,000 won that I am asking can be put forward to his future neutering and/or vaccination costs. I ask the adopter or foster be responsible and provide Ser Pounce-a-lot with a stable and loving home (that includes taking him with them if moving in country or otherwise). I ask that the potential adopter or foster fill out a short application (which I have) before taking Ser Pounce-a-lot home. Ser Pounce will go home with his food, some toys, litter and a litter box (if needed). I can work out all the details with the future adopter or foster.
