UPDATE: I wanted to share the latest on Otak's progress (when rescued by Buyun he was called Titi). We named him after a furry little creature in a science fiction novel. Even though this little kitten's spine is in two pieces, incredibly, our miracle-working vet has managed to recover nerves and mobility in one hindleg and the inside of the other one! This week will be the last of our scheduled acupuncture treatment sessions and I will be shown how to give him massage therapy. Ideally, the little one should be swimming to improve the use of the one leg. He drags the one leg and the top part of the paw gets rough treatment on the bathroom tiles, so I have been working on socks and solutions...a real headache! This week the vet and I figured out veterinary tape will do the trick, yay! As I mentioned before, we are lucky that he is able to use an ordinary litter box and does not require any help eliminating. He has never had an accident either. Our darling little boy is just a joy, especially I think, to his ten month-old brother who now has a live, in-house entertainment centre 24/7! It took approximately three weeks for territorial and hierarchial issues to be settled, and it is heart-warming that they now can play, sleep and eat together. I've also made the considered committment to go vegan with both their feeding and now prepare all their meals myself and have found sites from which I can order the necessary ingredients online. We couldn't have been happier to bring Otak into our lives, and are such proud parents of our two boys.

Titi has many angels looking out for him:
1. Buyun, who rescued him.
2. Buyun's vet, who pulled him through.
3. My vet, Dr Choi, who has offered acupuncture for free.
4. His adopter, who will take him in September and plans on taking him home to Finland with her.
Now all we need is angel # 5 who can foster Titi until mid-September and take him for his free acupuncture treatments.
Can you be that angel?

We found Angel # 5!! Titi will be going into foster care this evening with an amazing lady who has a heart of gold! Watch this space to see Titi's progress.
Having fostered 3 special needs dogs, I can safely say that this may be one of the most rewarding & inspiring experiences of your life. Don't let a little paralysis put you off, the passion for life and ability to overcome obstacles that these animals possess is awe-inspiring :)

WONDERFUL!!
Yes, how true, Clare! When you step in and help an animal who is really in need, they will repay you a thousand times over with their love and appreciation! :)

I fetched the baby from the vet this afternoon and he is now sleeping peacefully in his nappy in his new home. The good news is that he has been eliminating on his own whilst at the vet, and eating well, too, so I won't need to help him out with that for now. He is very alert, super affectionate and happy to lick on my fingers. I think he is still desperately missing his mommy. That said, I think he is in good spirits otherwise. He is mobile and confidently dragging himself in and out of bed, fiercely pushing me to get out of the way. We'll be back at the vet on Monday for a check-up and possibly treatment.
