This little kitten has been living with me for a week now, and is such a little bundle of joy! I am not sure of the gender yet, but for the sake of convenience in writing, I'm going to assume she's a female. (Also, because of the uncertainty in gender, I haven't given a proper name yet.) She is probably about two months old and was probably the runt of her litter.
Little "White Neck" has adjusted surprisingly well to a new environment, going from a house with 3 cats to now being a single cat. When she first came to my home, she tended to stay in her own space and just sleep a lot. Now she has completely opened up, getting cuddly, playful and vocal. She has a cute little raspy meow that she is now showing off quite a bit! She recently took part in a "bring your pet to work" type of day where she was around lots of little kids. Adults held her as she was pet by children, but I assume with the proper introduction, she would do just fine with children in a home.
On the medical side of things, she was found out by the river, but seemed to be abandoned there. Therefore, she does not have any shots yet, but also doesn't have any apparent physical ailments. I will be taking her to the vet soon to get her de-wormed as it appears she might have worms.
If you're looking to adopt a kitten, she is definitely a wonderful option. She's playful, friendly and cuddly. I enjoy having her in my home and can't wait for her to find a "forever home!" Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to stop by and meet her.

It's too late now but taking the kitten to work to be around a lot of little kids before it got any worming or health checks is putting the kids at risk of getting some kind of disease or worms. Anyone who has been around kids knows how bad a lot of them are about washing their hands properly and things like that. Also a scratch could have caused one of the kids to get tetanus or something. Some of those kids could go a while without even knowing that they have gotten worms. You might also be making yourself legally responsible for one of the kids getting sick, I don't know how the law works here but that would happen in other countries and you could be sued or have to pay hospital costs at least which could cost you a lot. It would have been better for the kitten to get worm treatment right away so your home would not be infected too. You should also take some worming tablets too and clean the areas where the kitten has been sleeping or spending time and especially the litter box and area to get rid of worms and eggs and prevent getting worms again.
