May 2: I was informed today that my sweet Meadow (Kaylee) passed away peacefully today in the arms of her family. I have loved and lost 2 cats in Korea to FIP. It is terrible. Meadow is missed terribly by her human mom and dad, her best friend/cat sister (Cora) and by me (former foster parent lucky enough to have experienced her amazing spirit for the 3 months that I had her). Bye sweet girl! We are better for having known you! :)
February 9: Meadow has been officially adopted and her new name is Kaylee! :) I love you sweet girl! I'm so happy you found a family with two human parents and two animal siblings to love you forever! You'll always be in my heart! ;)
January 27: Meadow is in her new home and exploring her surroundings. Her new parents are really into photography so I am posting some new pictures of her below, taken on her first night in Incheon! :)
January 24: Meadow will be going to Incheon tomorrow to get to know her potential forever family - 2 human parents and 2 animal siblings. Good luck, Meadow! I will miss you SO much but I hope you love your new family and I hope they love you too! :)
January 12: I finally decided to video Meadow playing fetch! Scroll to bottom of page for video. :)
January 6: Meadow is such a lovely kitten, full of zest for life! Her favorite activity is playing fetch with her stuffed mouse or a piece of plastic. She will play as long as you are willing to play. One time I decided to see how long she would go and she literally played for an hour and a half before tiring of the game!!! But, she is also quite content to play with it herself and taunt her siblings! :) I'll have to try to catch it on video! :)
December 16: Meadow is a healthy, almost 4 month old, kitten who continues to grow and thrive! She lost her foster brother, Quint, and for a week was wandering the house crying and sucking on her tail. Poor dear! She loved him so much. Thankfully, that is slowly coming to an end and she is getting back to her sweet, well-adjusted self. You can see from the pictures how big she is getting! She is so loving and inquisitive. When she wants something she will walk up to me, put her little face literally centimeters from mine and let out one big meow. If I don't respond, she will give me a quizzical look as if to say, "I'm confused. Do you not see me? Can you not hear me?" and she will then put her face in my ear so that I can actually feel her wet nose, and meow again. It's so endearing!! :)
November 18: Meadow is growing up so fast! She is now a master jumper, a fast runner and a scarily bold explorer! She's not afraid of any challenge and will always find a way to get what she wants. She also is experiencing her first cat crush - my cat, Gray. She looks at him with such love and thinks he can do no wrong! He will be in the middle of biting her face and she will be looking at him with such adoration! :) It's so adorable. Gray is a bit of a 'bad boy' - he's kind of tough on the outside but has a heart of gold. I guess it's not just human females who like the 'bad boys' - haha.
October 27: Meadow will soon be saying good bye to her foster brother and foster sister whom she has grown to love and find comfort in. How wonderful it would be if she could find a forever home with another cat for her to grow close to!
October 19: Meadow is a climber! Meadow is still pretty small and hasn't really mastered the art of jumping yet but boy can she climb! I affectionately call her spider baby because of her abilities. She can scale anything and, unlike many cats, she is just as good going down as going up. :)
October 6 : Meadow has a clean bill of health and I now leave her alone to play with all my animals when I leave the house. I think the best way to describe her is with some oxymorons: She is a feisty sweetheart, an independent team player, an extroverted introvert and a hesitant but bold explorer. She is perfectly litter trained and has never once had an accident outside the litter box. She has no fear of people, cats or dogs and also doesn't seem bothered by sudden loud noises or sudden movements. The best thing is that she is learning the ropes from 3 of the kindest, sweetest, most loving cats on the face of the planet (yes, I'm a proud foster mom!!) and I can already see that loving nature rubbing off on her. :) Anyone who brought her into their home would be blessed with a real gem! :)
This little sweetheart was found with three dead siblings deep in a farmer's field. I was taking my dogs out for an early morning walk and heard this little girl crying her eyes out (no surprise). I picked her up, took her home, gave her something to eat and drink and decided to make a profile for her. She has absolutely no fear of my two dogs or three foster cats and my dog, Alexis has already started mothering her (washing her and keeping her away from harm) which she seems to appreciate. :)

Wow, Marla. Thank goodness you found her! So sad about her siblings : ( I wonder what what the story was. Hope she gets a forever home real soon!

Actually, I'm pretty sure I know the story. The last week or so I've heard kittens crying from a farmer's yard. I had tried to talk to him about the kittens but he just refused to talk to me or even acknowledge that I was talking to him, I had decided to sneak in when he wasn't around (which was almost never) and rescue all of the kittens because I knew he wasn't looking after them and wasn't interested in them (I had managed to sneak a peak at the kittens and saw they were all skinny and barely had the energy to move). When I went there, I discovered they were all missing. I knew he had just dumped them somewhere where no one would hear them crying. Probably a stray gave birth on his land and he wanted nothing to do with it. So glad I found little Meadow but so sad I couldn't have saved the others :(

Meadow went to the vet today and for now, she's perfectly healthy. Of course, it's necessary to wait a week to see if any symptoms develop but, as of this moment, she is thriving. She is eating well; she is peeing and pooping well; she is playing and exploring - a perfectly normal, sweet, affectionate kittten. I keep her in a crate while I am sleeping or out of the house because she can't interact with my own cats for the next week - she is the sweetest angel about it. No complaints. She just curls up for a nap under the watchful eye of my dog, Alexis, a.k.a mommy to all in need! :)

She is doing wonderfully!!! She has gained weight; she is eating and using the litter box without fail; she is also VERY active (she doesn't want to do anything except play with the big kids and she can definitely hold her own!). She is a very sweet little girl!! If you are interested, fill out the adoption application form (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application) and e-mail it back to me: [email protected]. If everything looks good, hopefully we can have a chat over Skype. :) I look forward to getting your application! :)

Thanks so much for rescuing her, Marla- and for everything you did trying to help the others!! That's amazing to me that someone would rather abandon living creatures in a meadow than hand them over to another person who could properly care for them... Thanks for not giving up!!

I know! It's shocking to me too! The guy knew I'd be happy to take them all - I even showed up with a carrier for them. I can't imagine why he would prefer to just let them die alone in a field! I guess lots of Koreans (and people from other countries as well!) just see cats as nuisances that are better off dead - what a shame! If only he could see what a wonderful addition to my home, and to the world, little Meadow is!! :)

Haha, the cone of shame is getting the way. Super cute. It makes me miss my foster kittens a little. Maybe I should foster another two? Thanks for saving her, and for taking care of all your critters.

I just can't get over how lovely she is. The way her eyes are - she reminds me of the Egyptian queen, Nefertiri. And she does look like a sweet and loving cat. Her reaction to being loved on is really cute.

Yeah, poor dear. FIP is Feline Infectious Peritonitis. It is a fatal disease that causes inflammation. It is absolutely terrible! I hate it and unfortunately, it is not at all uncommon! You can look at an overview of it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_infectious_peritonitis
