Kong (콩)

Personality Overview:-
- sweet and very gentle
- playful
- loves belly rubs, butt pats and to cuddle, but doesn't like to be picked up and isn't a lap cat.
- eats well and sleeps all night

-Update July 15th -
Kong continues to grow and become more confident. He's a peaceful and gentle companion, but playful when he wants to be. He's eating well and sleeps throughout the night; these days he never wakes me up. He's a fabulous cat deserving of a good home :)

-Update June 11th -
I've been fostering Kong for a month now. When he first arrived, he scooted straight under the bed and I only saw him when he was eating. He's a totally different cat now! He is playful and cuddly- sleeps in bed every night and runs to the door when I come home. He is *incredibly* sweet and gentle; he's the perfect cat for someone who needs a good night's sleep *and* likes to have playtime too. I'm currently trying to lead (leash) train him so he can chill on my roof with me :)

He has a chronic breathing problem which means he gets out of breath during play and sometimes has a snotty nose, but honestly, it only makes him more adorable and in need of a fantastic, loving home! He's still a very robust wee man. :)

-Update March 22nd-
Kong is still doing well. He has adapted to life at the shelter really well. He's still one of the most polite cats I know. When he's around other cats it's almost like he's saying to the others "Is it okay if I eat the food, thank you"?

Kong (콩) arrived at our shelter on January 20th, 2013 and is the newest addition to our family at Nabiya. It's only his first few days here at the shelter so naturally he's very shy and timid. I was able to pet and caress him as he's a very gentle cat. He's 1 year and 6 months old.

-Update (1/26/12) -
Kong is slowly getting used to life at the shelter. His first few days, he'd just stay on top of the cat tower. Now he's coming down and socializing more. He's a very mellow cat and easy to pet. Very lovable.

Kong met one of our shelter's volunteers for the first time when he was 3-4 months old in 2011. She always looks after and takes care of street cats, and Kong has been one of those cats for about a year. She fed him daily, however 2 - 3 months ago, Kong only started coming occasionally as he was spotted in other regions by her. And finally on Christmas Eve, she found him with a terribly wounded eye. She told me, catching him was such a relief and a wonderful Christmas present for her. It is assumed that someone either kicked or threw a rock at him. He could have also accidentally prickled his eye on something sharp. He was immediately taken to the vet where he had to have his eye removed. At present the surgery was successfully completed, however the vet said the inflammation on his eye is very serious, so to always keep a close watch on it.

Currently Kong is very healthy. He's neutered and up to date with all his vaccinations. But it's still very important to always monitor his health status. He's very kind to people and is an extremely lovable cat. Kong has had a very rough life and we would like nothing more than for him to have a forever loving home where he can live the rest of his life in happiness.
