*Update 26th July, 2014 by Suyoun
It's been a long time to update her profile.
She's been adopted to Marla in the last Saturday. Marla kept asking and watching Ruby for a long time and decided to keep her when her profile was up again.
It's not easy to take one more cat because she already has dogs and cats.
However, Ruby was doing great at new home with her new family members. :)
Thanks Marla and let's keep in touch. Take care Ruby! It's a time to be relaxed finally!
*Update 21st December, 2013 by Suyoun
Ruby got a vaccination. :)
*Update 20th December, 2013 by Suyoun.
Mr.Park doesn't want to let her go. He will keep her forever. :)
I visit the shelter every Sat. I'll keep updating about her.
*Update 12th November, 2013 by Suyoun
Ruby has really good health condition.
Also she is very smart. she can open the door by herself!
*Update 29th October, 2013 by Suyoun
Ruby stays in the house of Mr.Park(Asan Shelter).
She is really healthy and enjoys spending time alone.
Actually she doesn't like kittens anymore because she looked after so many kittens in the past.
Now, it's the time she should be looked after by human parent.
=========================================================
Ruby, a beautiful friendly tortishell cat was living on the streets of Seoul and was being fed by a friendly elderly couple. They soon noticed she was pregnant and when she finally gave birth contacted their friend Mr Park at Asan shelter to for help to take them in which he did in a heartbeat. Currently they're at Asan, warm, snug and dry, but it would be great to get them into a home environment to help the kittens get over the first few hurdles in life.
The foster home would need to take care of them for at least two or so months (mid-end of May 2013) until the kittens are ready to be fostered or adopted out individually. Thus the foster home needs to be prepared and be able to accomodate ample space, time and love for potentially seven cats and eventually help find them foster or adoptive homes.
There are 3 ginger, 2 calico and 1 grey tabby kitten. Currently their sex are unknown though I suspect the ginger kittens will be boys, the calicos girls and possibly the tabby a girl too. Will confirm in due time! Mama cat Ruby is incredibly sweet, friendly and a damn good mother to her precious bundles.

Ruby is getting stressful in the small cage.
She is not spayed yet so we'd like to have a foster home to get her surgery.
She is friendly to people. :)

*Updated 25th July, 2013 by Suyoun Kim
Ruby is still at the small enclosure with many kittens even though she finished feeding for them.
She needs a foster home to get spay surgery.
Please please make her home. She's done all she could do for us.
UPDATE: June 30
Ruby's kittens have finally left the nest and now this sweet girl can take a good hard earned rest. Ruby is in much need of some attention and tlc, and some serious fattening up after being milked dry! The five little fuzzballs from Incheon have now been moved into foster care in Seoul. Ruby received her second vaccination and is just waiting to be spayed. It would be so wonderful to see her recover from this in a home rather than the shelter, so please consider opening up your home to this amazing little lady so she can recover in peace and with some tender care. This girl deserves only the best!

UPDATE: June 15
Marvellous Ruby and kittens are doing well. She is still nursing the five new arrivals, who are about 4 weeks old now, however the kittens seem to be suffering a bout of ringworm or mites at the moment, so are receiving some treatment for that. Hopefully they'll recover soon. Ruby is wonderful as usual, a little on the thin side since she's being milked dry, so we're trying to keep her belly full so she can keep nursing the little ones until they ready to be weened. I'm anxious to line up the best forever home for this beautiful mother when her kittens are ready to leave her. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle, loving and loyal tortie, look no further than Ruby! She would really make the most loveliest feline companion.
***
UPDATE: June 3
One mum cat. 14 kittens. I hereby nominate Ruby for 'mother of the year'. Ruby is simply a wonder and continues to impress everyone she comes across. Not only is she a stellar mum to her own kittens as well as adopted ones and an incredibly stunning tortoiseshell, she's also friendly and affectionate and would make the most wonderful feline companion. I would love to see this girl find an amazing forever home after what she's done for so many kittens; she truly deserves it.
Ruby and her own kittens, along with Tolmengi, Bawi and Pebble, received their first rounds of vaccinations over the weekend.
Her kittens are warming up with people slowly but regardless they are still incredibly beautiful kitties and if given the chance will no doubt blossom into some very adorable cats. If you are thinking about adopting a kitten, why not give one of these little shelter beans a chance in life? If you would like to meet Ruby or any of her kittens, please contact Daisy at [email protected].
Be sure to check out some recent photos of them below in the comment section.

UPDATE: May 18
Ruby's brood continues to grow! Five one-week-old motherless kittens arrived the other day from Incheon and lovely Ruby has taken them under her wing as her own and is now feeding them. What a super mum! Ruby is also feeding Tolmengi, Bawi and Pebble (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/cat/1889) which makes 14 kittens altogether that Ruby is nursing. Ruby's own kittens are still a little shy but were comfortable to eat near and play with me. A little bit of patience and kindness will see this cuties come of out shells and once again become friendly. However, they have come of age and are now ready to be adopted along with Tolmengi, Bawi and Pebble. The five new little ones will be ready to be adopted, along with Ruby, in another two months time (mid July). As for Ruby, she seems quite content being a good mum to all these sweet little beans for the time being.
***
UPDATE: May 11
Ruby and kittens are almost ready to be adopted! Mama and her bundle will be able to go to homes in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, due to the postponed volunteer trips for the past two weeks and thus important chances to have positive social encounters with people at the critical time of their social development the kittens have become a little feral and scared of people; hissing, spitting, swiping but no biting luckily. It made confirming there sex difficult today, hopefully next week I will be able to provide this info. Ruby too seemed a little more reserved and nervous than usual but she soon warmed up and enjoyed our affections. However, they moved in with the shelter manager today so hopefully the next week will see them open up more. I will continue to spend more time with them too on the weekends and monitor their development. But no doubt once they go into new homes they will open up and become the sweetpeas I know they can be. Please consider opening your heart and homes to one of these little beans ^^

There's a potential foster waiting in the wings...fingers crossed by next weekend they'll all be in a warm home!
I checked them last weekend and they are all doing really well; all seemingly strong, clean and healthy, all the kittens eyes are open and I have yet to distinguish any obvious runts in the litter. I think the mother is doing an amazing job with these little ones! You can't help but fall in love with her; she's a fantastic caring mother, affectionate and friendly with people despite having a litter around and extraordinarily beautiful!

Awww, the are so big already! I hope they all find a home - but I also hope that they find a FOREVER home and not just a home until they aren't so cute anymore. Kittens turn into cats, people! Speaking of cats, I'm so in love with Ruby! She seems absolutely lovely! :)

You know, I actually prefer older cats to kittens. Kittens are super cute, but a calmer, more mature animal friend suites my personality and habits more. It's a joy to watch kittens grow up, but I agree with you Marla - I hope they find forever homes and not just "I'm cute right now" homes!
Ruby is such a sweetie!

I'm SO IN LOVE with Ruby! She's really an amazing cat and would no doubt form a very close bond with a human companion when she'll have the chance. And I couldn't agree more; welcoming a kitten into your lives means more than enjoying the short term 'kitten cuteness'; it also means committing to raising them into a cat and sharing your life with theirs for as long as they live. 'Kitten cuteness' is just one enjoyable aspect of being part of a cat's life. A mature cat also brings equal joy if not more! I'll make sure that these lovelies find only the best, truly committed homes ^^

That's wonderful!! Why don't you put that at the top of her profile so people can see? It might make someone more likely to foster if they know they don't have to pay for the surgery (which is very expensive). I SO wish I could take her myself. She is so lovely!! I'm so jealous of whoever gets the pleasure of having her in their home! :)
