I have been looking after this handsome cat for the past 1.5 years after his previous owner returned to the US. He is one of the best looking cats I've ever seen and is very fun and playful. He has a favorite toy which he will run and play fetch with like a dog. When I come home from work he is very affectionate and will lie on my chest and purr while he gets his head rubbed. He loves head scratches and getting brushed but doesn't like his belly touched. He can be moody at times, but no more than any regular cat. He is overall rather well behaved - does not swat things off of tables or raised surfaces and keeps his scratching to his cardboard scratch pad (although if the pad worn down to the bottom it's best to get a new one before he goes after the wallpaper!)
Unfortunately, it is almost time for me to leave the country as well. I had been hoping that my parents could give him a permanent home but they will also be moving shortly as my dad recently got a job offer in Switzerland, so that is no longer an option. I really hope to find a more stable, permanent home for him. On my end, I have always had to view our time together as more of a long-term foster situation. Because of the nature of my research, I have to do a lot of field work in tropical forests and will not be able to provide a stable home in the next 5+ years while I pursue my PhD. I took Kitty into my home because his previous owner had arranged to rehome him with a married couple but then shortly before they left Korea, the wife in the new home became pregnant and that couple decided they could no longer take him because they were anxious about the litter box & her pregnancy and how the baby and cat would interact. I kind of stepped in as the best possible alternative in that situation.
He is neutered and just visited the vet last month and received boosters on his vaccinations for rabies, FVR, and worms. He is generally in good health but quite fat for a cat in Korea so he has been put on a diet. I can give you his litter box, some food (I have both Purina and a low-cal blend), food and water bowls, a scratch pad, comb, dental care, toys, and carrier bag. I will be happy to pass along the contact information and his paperwork for the vet that I go to in Busan.
Please contact me if you think you can give Kitty a good home. I live in Busan but am willing to travel elsewhere in Korea to bring him to you. If you are interested, you can come by and meet him or I can send more photos and videos.
