*URGENT - HAS DISTEMPER* Logan is 1 of 5 puppies my friend Zoe rescued from Karama this past weekend. He is very friendly and loves attention, and the most outgoing of them all. He is super cute; all black, with just a bit of white and loves to snuggle. Unfortunately, the puppies and mom have had a very rough time, as had Zoe. Yesterday, they were all diagnosed with Distemper. It is a very difficult situation as her housing and her job are in jeorpardy. She also has her own puppy who I am currently pet-sitting while she is dealing with this whole situation.
2 days ago, she noticed Emma (mom dog) cough a few times, and then another puppy started coughing and then another so she took them to a vet to check them out and unfortunately they all tested positive for distemper.
All 6 are currently being boarded at the Chungwha Animal Hospital in Itaewon where they are receiving treatment thanks to a kind and generous donation. However, when they are able to leave the vet's in a few days, they have nowhere to go as due to the noise, her landlord has said the dogs must go. She made a deal that she won't bring the other dogs back as long as she could keep my her own puppy Panda - she can't risk this deal, not only because of Panda but because her job made it clear that if she lost the apartment, she also loses her job as they are unsatisfied with her work performance since she rescued the 6 dog.
The puppies will need to continue treatment after they leave the vet's in a few days. This involves going to a vet twice a day to be injected with a serum called "Sears Plasma". If you don't have a dog of your own and can foster Logan or one of his siblings temporarily, while we continue to search for new homes for them all, please contact Zoe as soon as possible. We will be fundraising for the continuation of the treatment for all the puppies.
The adoption fee is listed as 50,000won but anything extra is greatly appreciated, as the medical treatment for the 6 dogs for Distemper is extremely high.
Thank you everyone, fingers crossed all the puppies and Emma survive!

When I visited today the vet said that they have finished their serum treatment and can go to foster homes tomorrow. The new home(s) don't have to take them to the vets every day only every 2-3 days for a health check and eventually less often. After 3weeks we will test them for distemper again. If they are negative they only need to be in quarantine for 1 month more. We think the DHPPL vaccination is what saved their lives as they have regained their health much faster than normal. If you live close to me I would be happy to help out with taking them to and from a vet clinic. I personally would rather they continued going to Chung Hwa in Itaewon as they have been so understanding and helpful throughout the process.

When I visited today the vet said that they are doing well and can go to foster homes tomorrow. However no foster homes have stepped forward yet. They are currently boarding at Chung Hwas until Saturday 7th but the vet says they would do much better in a home environment than confined at the vets. After 3weeks (wednesday 18th July) we will test them for distemper again. If they are negative they only need to be in quarantine for 1 month more.
