Norman

Norman's trial adoption was a winner, he is now happily hogging the couch with his forever family. Thank you to everyone who offered support, and especially to Norm's new owners. When he was abandoned on my doorstep, I wasn't sure what his future would be, but I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people, and thanks to his good looks and charm he found his home quickly :-) Well done wee guy!

Fantastic news: Norman is off for a trial adoption with a family of poodle lovers including a stay-at-home Mum and a little human brother. His new Dad confirmed my suspicions that Norman was probably hit by his first owner, this is evidenced in his behaviour. Sad as this is, it just makes him all the more lucky to have found his way away from that person and into the care of people who can love him. Imagine my surprise when I stepped out my apartment for a morning walk with my poodle, Theo and my foster Cherry and we met Norman, another poodle - right outside my door. He was quite distressed, so after checking at all the doors in my building with no luck, I carried him around the block as I walked my other dogs, hoping to see his owner. We didn't so I brought him in and fed him, and he is still here.

Norman is very young and puppyish, I would guess he's a year old but possibly younger. He is gangly, probably 4kg or so. His teeth are immaculate and his coat is soft. He is well behaved and has never barked once, he is very, very cuddly too.

I have placed posters around the area to find the owner and called the local vet incase he or she thinks to look there. However, the circumstances in which I found Norman are bizarre. He is almost identical to my own dog, same breed and colour. He was immaculately groomed and smelling of perfume, and despite it having rained all night and morning, he wasn't wet or dirty at all. The front door of my building was shut (it's rarely shut) as if to keep him in. A Korean co-worker suggested that the owner has seen me with my dogs, and decided to abandon him on my doorstep. I really hope this isn't the case but I think she might be right.

As I have two dogs here already I really can't keep Norman here for long, there isn't room and it's not fair on any of them. I haven't the heart to put him in a shelter, and I daren't give him over to the vet because aftet 10 days he could be sent to the local pound. So I am determined to find Norman a foster or forever home asap.
