*Update*: Lou is still waiting for his forever home! The good news is that he is completely house trained now! Well.. mostly ;) It seems that Lou's previous owner trained him to use the bathroom, well, in the bathroom. However, if I keep the bathroom door closed while I am gone, he has absolutely no accidents in the house! Many days I am gone for 9 hours and he is just fine. I also keep free all night, and he has no accidents! But I will warn you, he is a super cuddler! If he isnt confined, he WILL crawl under the covers for the night. Additionally, he has proven to be an excellent "fetch" player! Also, his hair has been growing back and I cant believe how soft and white he is!
Meet Lou! Lou has had quite the transformation over the past month and is looking for a forever home!
Lou was found abandoned at a subway station in Seoul. After much searching, his owners were never found, and based on his condition, it was apparent that whoever his original owners were didn't get him the basic vet care he needed over the course of his life. However, that hasn't put a damper on Lou's spirits!
Lou is an incredibly friendly dog who loves cuddling, laying in the sun, car rides, sitting on your shoulder like a parrot, and meeting new people. He gets along with other animals - although he doesn't necessarily want to make every animal his new friend! He prefers people attention and would be better suited in a home where he is the star of the show. While he has demonstrated he can live in a small apartment with another dog without any problems, he has made no attempts to be my dog's buddy.
The vet estimates Lou to be about 6 years old. He is still very playful and has many years left! He likes to play fetch and knows basic commands in Korean. He is crate trained/partially house trained. I keep him in a pen when I leave for long periods of time because it seems that he takes it personally when I leave and likes to leave presents in front of the door, regardless of if he was recently walked. When I am home however, he is free to roam and I never have to worry about accidents. I do not use pee pads in my house, my dogs only "go" outside and he has adjusted to that just fine.
Lou doesn't bark unless you have something he wants, then he lets out a bark to let you know he is there. He also lets out 1-2 warning barks if he hears someone at the door, but stops on command. He doesn't bark at outside noises, nor does he bark at other dogs on during walks.
While in my care Lou has been neutered, tested for influenza/heartworm/distemper (all negative), had a teeth scaling with 4 extractions, received all vaccinations, a chest x-ray, and has been treated for a skin fungus and a consistent cough/cold. His skin fungus has healed completely but he still has a small cough. I have seen a few vets who think Lou's cough might be something that stays with him - he just coughs a little when he wakes up. His hair was shaved to better treat the fungus - so in his photos it is short, but when it's long it is shaggy/wavy/curly and white/cream colored and super soft! I believe he is a somewhere between a maltese and poodle.
Currently the adoption fee is set at 100,000 pending Lou's fundraiser. If his fundraiser goal is met the fee will be dropped to 50,000 and be donated to another ARK fundraiser.

Thank you! Lou is my first foster and honestly you dont realize how much work fostering a sick doggie is until you do it, but it's totally worth it! Hoping he finds a really good home!

Lou has been doing great! He is really good at playing fetch! He loves a little playtime here and there, but is always ready to calm down and cuddle! Lou is going to see a specialist next week (Nov 4th) about his cough and to finish up his vaccinations. Still working on donations for this buddy!
