Well, I guess we just aren't very good at being foster parents. We couldn't let him go! This beautiful boy is staying with us. He gets along great with our dog Cassie and we just can't imagine finding a better dog down the road. :)
Also, today, Barkley is going to be neutered! Yay!!!
Update: January 2013
Due to unfortunate circumstances, Alfred's AMAZING foster mom has to go back home. So, on Saturday, Jan. 12th, Alfred has come to stay with my boyfriend and I (and our dog and 2 guinea pigs). It's only been a day, but I can already attest to this boy's greatness! He is so affectionate and will literally follow me around the apartment just so he can sit next to me. He gets along great with the other pets and is also extremely friendly with anyone he meets. Seriously, he only stops wagging his tail when he's sleeping! Next weekend, we'll take him to the vet for a full check up and schedule a date for him to get neutered. Please consider adopting this beautiful boy!
Great news for Alfred! This adorable pup has found a foster home in Incheon!!! No more freezing nights at a shelter. Thank you to Sarah for helping Alfred and Allison (and Matt) for all the hard work and meeting Sarah in Seoul with him. :)
UPDATE: Alfred now has his own profile. As mentioned before, it would be awesome to have him find a home with his buddy Bruno, but can also be adopted on HIS cuteness alone.
My friend and I took Alfred and Bruno out for a walk last week. While Alfred was a little vocal in the shelter, as soon as he got away from the barking dogs he calmed down completely. He seemed a bit on edge with all the noise, but was completely carefree with his tail wagging FURIOUSLY as he sniffed out the hill. He walks really well on a lead with minimal pulling, not that he can really do much with his perfect apartment size! After we did a little jogging though, he was happy to trot along next to us. At one point, we sat down at the bottom of the hill and he curled right up into my friend's lap, leaning against him. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the look of contentment Alfred had by just being held and loved. This dog is a cuddle bug! He is such a sweetheart and the sooner he can be away from the stress of shelter living, the better!
Alfred and Bruno have only very recently been brought to Asan shelter. In an unfortunate fire, their previous owner decided to put them up for adoption since they could no longer be cared for.
These two dogs are currently living together in one pen because they seem much more comfortable being with each other. This being said, having them adopted together would be WONDERFUL, but not necessarily mandatory. Last week, both of these pups were two favorite walking buddies for 2 groups of high school students that came to volunteer. These dogs are very friendly and get along with people and other dogs alike.
Alfred, the gold boy, is still very much a puppy and loves to explore while on walks. He has adorable short legs and seems a little more independent than Bruno. He pulls on the lead a little bit, but only because he wants to sniff EVERYTHING!
More information on this to follow! In the meantime, he could really use a health check to certify that he is as healthy as he looks. If you're interested in sponsoring, please contact me at [email protected]!

Alfred has been adjusting really well to foster care! He is great on the leash and loves to explore. We went for two walks today and he did his business outside - no accidents inside yet! Such a good boy. He is having a little bit of a hard time getting used to the crate, but I am working on it with him. I would love to see him find a forever home! He is such a affectionate little dude and deserves a loving and permanent home.
