Update (May 6): It's official! Starla has been adopted; her foster parents will miss her so much coz she was such an awesome doggie but she is going to the most wonderful home with lottttttssssssss of space for her to run around in! Couldn't be happier for this very deserving girl!!

Update (March 14): Starla's fosters have only wonderful things to say about this dog - she is doing AMAZINGLY. She would be such a perfect addition to your home ^^

Update (February 8): From Starla's foster mom: "Starla is absolutely sweet and gorgeous--She is a star!
She is so smart! She is quickly opening up to others, relaxing much more and becoming less skittish.
She loves her walks and runs-- beach and hikes-- and her car rides!
She is such a beautiful and smart doggy!
We love her!"

Update (January 25): Starla went to her foster home today. Yippieeeeee!!!!!!! So happy she will have a warm place out of the cold and a loving family to give her all the attention and walks she deserves.

Update (January 22): I took Starla out for a walk today and she was over the moon happy. She saw me coming with the harness and she knew. She was jumping up and down and wiggling with excitement. She jumped right out the kennel and was raring to go! This girl has got spunk; aside from pulling a bit, she is wonderful on leash. She is such a sweetheart and soooooooo beautiful!

Update (January 8): Starla was just begging for attention on the weekend. I was feeding the dogs, and she saw me and came straight to the door and was prancing around all excited. When I opened the door, she wanted out, she thought we were going for a walk. She is either an extremely fast learner or was someone's pet a long time ago because she knows "walks" and loves them. I couldn't take her out but she was standing up on her hindlegs, pawing at me to give her attention. So I picked her up for a quick snuggle. Starla is really so sweet, but I believe she has slight food aggression so her future family should consider that if they have a dog already. Also, I don't know if she's just sick of her kennelmate but sometimes they get along, and sometimes they don't - it honestly could be just out of sheer boredom.

Isn't she GORGEOUS?? Starla has been at the shelter a long time. She shares her kennel with a Jindo-mix and previously with Bbomi, the Dalmatian who was adopted. She didn't do too well with Bbomi, but she's fine with the Jindo. She has actually made a huge turnaround from when I first met her. Not sure if she's been getting more attention from volunteers so she's becoming more socialized but she is AMAZING. She is SO sweet and gentle and absolutely loves to be pet and hugged and I tried picking her up yesterday, and she was so into it ha ha. She stayed in my arms until I was going numb and had to put her down ha ha. She has the most gorgeous little face and is a good size. She seems very healthy with bright eyes. I decided I was going to see if she could go on a walk. WOW!!! She put up no fuss when I put the harness on her. And she knew what it was, she was jumping up and down and so excited. I know she hasn't been walked in 9 months at least, maybe ever?? But she did so incredibly well. She pulled a little bit but that's to be expected of course but otherwise, was just wonderful. Did fine with passing cars and people. And she really is just such a gem and so beautiful. I feel so sorry that she's been overlooked all these months but now it's her time to shine! Starla would make a wonderful pet, please consider her :)
