Meet Tobi, a lovely 2+ year old gorgeous black Lab, currently being fostered at our home. He is a gentle dog that loves to snuggle and be near people. Every day we see a beautiful, playful personality that is starting to blossom. He has soft brown eyes, a snuggly nose, and a waggy tail that will make your heart melt.
He was sick with bronchitis and was quite skinny when we first started fostering him. He has been tested for distemper and influenza; both came back with a clean bill of health. There was no information on what vaccinations he has had or needs. We have given him deworming medicine and medicine for heartworm. He has a great appetite and has normal urine and stool when we take him outside. The vet says he is in fine health overall and will be much better in two weeks. We are working on increasing his weight and building muscle mass – especially in his hind quarters. Although he is not neutered, he should be in the near future.
He does like other dogs and gets along with them but has not yet learned the boundaries that other dogs have; therefore, he might do better being the only dog in your home. He was calm and playful around other dogs in the play area at the shelter. Even with larger females he was calm and cuddly with them. We have an older neutered male retriever that is a bit insecure with having another intact male dog in the house. They walk well together and are generally not interested in each other.
Tobi is so cute when he walks; he has a happy little bounce with each step. He is learning commands very quickly. He is very attentive when there are treats involved. In one day he learned how to sit, to lie down and come. Tobi is very intelligent and has a great nose for smells when he is out for his walks. He won’t have a problem learning new commands and hand signals. It might take some time and patience, but the reward will certainly pay off.
Adoption fee for Tobi is 100,000 won. This helps pay for the medical expense already incurred to get him feeling better again. Not much is known where he came from only that he was at the KAPS (Korean Animal Protection Society) in Daegu dog shelter for almost two weeks. His adoption will go through KAPS and use their application process (please see below). Time was running out for Tobi at the shelter. It would have been a shame for him to be euthanized. He truly will make a wonderful, lifelong pet for the right person or family.

Tobi slept all through the night last night. He is gaining weight and feeling so much better than even two days ago. We are seeing a marked improvement in him. He does a little prance when he has to go outside, and there have been no accidents in the house. His cough is almost gone and is doing really well on his walks and outside time.
