*Update-September 7*
Simon's long wait is finally over! His amazing foster family has decided to adopt him permanently. Congratulations to all of you. Simon is finally home!
*Update-September 7*
Simon is still happily waiting with his foster family. He is doing very well with them. It's time for this boy to find his forever home, though. Please don't forget him!
*Update-August 19th*
Simon is doing remarkably well with his foster family! Here is what his foster dad has to say: "Simon is really doing well. He is such a good boy. He always follows me wherever I go. I shaved his hair by myself because he couldnt stand this hot weather. I walk him twice everyday, morning n night. He loves going outside. He has no problem with going up n down stairs. He is a sweet boy^^"
Simon continues to be our miracle boy. I'm so proud of him, and I hope his forever family finds him soon and sees how great he is.
*Update-August 4th*
Simon has moved to a new foster home and is adapting very well. He has already made friends with the dogs living there and is learning his way around really well. His new buddies have been keeping him from feeling so lonely, so he feels a bit better all around.
Please keep thinking about giving this guy a home. Many people might read his profile and think his case is too serious, too much work, but he's not at all. He's great at getting around and finding what he needs, and he's honestly happier than I've ever seen him. He's good at walking on a leash (even walks in a straight line!) if he has direction, and can handle stairs pretty well, too.
*Update-July 5th*
Beautiful Simon visited the ophthalmologist again. He had his stitched removed today. It looks like his surgery has gone well. This wonderful loving older gent really needs a permanent home to rest in. Are you able to give Simon a peaceful and loving home? He will surely repay you in endless love and affection.
*Update-July 1st*
Simon is an inspiration. Even though he is now blind he hasn't given up on life. The lovely Simon is doing very well with his wonderful foster mom. She says that he is learning to navigate again but due to his blindness he is often looking for reassurance that someone else is there. She thinks that Simon might do well in a home with another dog where he could 24 company or with a family where someone is home for large part of the day. Simon has been a very brave boy, he deserve a chance at a loving home.
*Update-June 28th*
Poor Simon. There has been some sad news for Simon. Simon had been undergoing heart worm treatment in his foster home when he started to lose his sight. A visit to the vet revealed that Simon had severe glaucoma in both eyes, and this was also causing him great pain. Unfortunately, there is no cure. Then only way for Simon to be free of the pain was for both of his eyes to be removed. For dogs, sight is a lesser sense, as they live their life by smells and sounds. Simon has gone into foster care and finish his heart worm treatment. He is doing well and learning to navigate again.
Simon is a wonderful loving dog looking for a new companion who can take on the challenges of caring for Simon. He might not be able to see his new family but Simon will still be able to give them lots of love.

*Update- June 3rd*
The charming older gentlemen Simon has found place to rest his head while receiving his heart worm treatment. He will stay with his new family for at least 2 months to recover. He is happy and at peace so we hope that his foster family will fall in love with him. Simon is a sweet and gentle dog who deserves a warm and comfortable home to call his own.
*Update-March 15th*
Simon is still looking for a foster home for 2 months so he can receive his heartworm treatment. Simon is older and needs a calm home to allow him to recover. This beautiful boy is fully housetrained and very affectionate. Please consider helping Simon to live.
*Update-February 27th*
I will be out of the country for a few months so a lovely volunteer named Claire will be taking over my profiles to make sure they don't expire! You can contact either of us with any questions, but she will be faster to answer. However, I am still more than willing to help if you need me:-)

Simon Cowell is one of the Anniversary dogs. Six dogs were rescued from the pound as a way for Leo and Jin Young (shelter directors) to celebrate their 10th anniversary. They came to BAPS January 13th.
Simon is an older gentlemen. He is such a beautiful color. I've listed him as brown but he's a beautiful dark golden or ginger color. He spent the last two weeks in foster care to recover from being neutered. Here is what his foster mom had to say about Simon:
“Simon is an adorable dog. He is completely house trained and will wait patiently for you to take him outside to do his duty. He is also able to tell you when he needs to go outside, as he will go sit at the door and make mumbling sounds.
He plays nicely both with people and toys (which he loves). He likes to cuddle and if you let him, he’ll give you kisses all night long.
He likes being outside and going for walks, and I found him a lot fitter than a previous dog I fostered.
He is not a shelter dog. His wonderful behaviour and character definitely indicates he has had a home before and is comfortable and used to a homely environment.
Simon is too sweet for words and I hope he’ll find a lovely home soon.”
Simon is now back at the shelter and waiting for someone to take him home so he can prove what a great companion he is!
Medical history:
Up to date on shots.
Neutered.
He's a bit older and his eyes are showing his age. They are ok right now but a bit weak.
Poor Simon has heartworm. He needs a foster home for 2 months to receive daily heartworm treatment.
Simon is a BAPS dog, which means anyone interested in fostering or adopting him will need to complete the adoption application (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application) and volunteer two Sundays in a row (from 11-3) at our shelter. For an adoption, one must complete a month long trial to make sure you and the dog are a good fit! You can visit the shelter page for more information!
*BAPS also has a sponsorship program. Anyone interested can give 200,000 won for a dog to have their full health check, be neutered or spayed, and get any necessary dental work. If you are interested in sponsoring one of our dogs, let me know!

Simon has been staying with me to recover from his eye surgery. This champ is not letting blindness slow him down! He has learned the outline of his room and is quite independent in finding what he needs. He does, however, love cuddling. He is super sweet and seems grateful to be free from the pain his eyes were causing him before the surgery. I'm proud of this boy.

Simon seems to have relearned his house training. He has been doing all his business outside, accident free for 7 days. He seems to feel stronger, more confident in himself now that he's going outside consistently. He's still happy to cuddle and give kisses, so I'm happy about that. He still needs work on the leash. We have some ramps and small steps, which he manages well if I tell him to be careful, but he'll run straight into trees or parked cars unless I pull him back hard.

Simon is waiting for his heartworm treatment to be over. He is pretty content with a sitting buddy, but is becoming restless when he's alone. He and I have had fun testing out new treats. So far he loves carrots and apples but isn't interested in bananas. He's getting better at following my lead when we walk, but we still have work to do. Tomorrow he goes to the vet to check how his eyes are healing. They look pretty good to me, so I hope we're finished with his cone. He does much better without it.
