June 2013: Bim's foster mom decided to adopt him! Congrats!
June, 26th: "Things are going very well. He still has another month before his treatment is completely finished. He has started to put on a little weight in muscle and a little fat which is great, because when I got him he was skin and bones, which you could really tell when he got his summer shave."
May, 2nd: Just to let you know that Bim is doing wonderfully! He is a very sweet and affectionate little dog with a lot of energy.
His heart worm treatment isn't over yet and it will be another little while before neutering is safe.
April, 26th: "I've been fostering Bim for a little over a week, and he is doing great! He's adjusting to living in a home very well, though he'll only be with me for a short time. I've just been filling in until his longer-term foster (my daughter) can take him. What a lovely little dog Bim is! He doesn't seem to have had much training before, because a lot of his behavior is very puppy-like, but he's very smart and observant, and he's learning fast. He's pretty good about housetraining, and he's very eager to please. He loves other dogs, and watches them carefully to see how he should behave. Unfortunately, one of my dogs is a little grumpy and bossy, so they haven't made friends, but Bim plays well with other dogs. He loves to be petted, and though he's clearly overjoyed to have attention from people who care about him, he doesn't show any separation anxiety, and I've only heard him bark once while he was playing. He's a wonderful little pal, and he's just waiting for the right person to come along and adopt him. I feel lucky to have had this chance to get to know him and help him on his way. He's such a sweetheart!
Bim will go back to the vet clinic for his final heartworm shot on the 15th, and after a few weeks, if he gets the all clear, he'll be neutered."
YAAAAAY!
April, 19th: Bim left the clinic and is now in his foster home in Daejeon!
"Bim's doing well and is SUCH a sweet dog. My dog is a little grumpy, so Bim's having to learn to leave him alone, but apart from that, everything is fine. He's very friendly with me and the other dogs, and he seems like he'd be pretty easy to live with. I'll send you some pictures over the weekend."
April, 10th: Bim is doing good. We are looking for a loving forever home for this boy. If interested, please contact me. You will love him!
March, 25th: Bim is doing good. He has about two more weeks to stay at the clinic. Consider adopting this adorable boy. He deserves to have the best family ever.
March, 9th: Bim was moved to Daejeon where he will be staying at the vet for 1 month and will start his heart worm treatment.
_________
Personality: super cuddly, good in a car, very good boy, no accidents in the house, he is good with people and other dogs, very gentle, kind, and calm. Of course, he is a ShihTzu!
Health status: young adult, 5 kg, received DHPPL, corona and rabies vaccines, no ear mites, no skin infection, heart worm positive.
This is Bim The Lucky Little Man (Bim is a popular dog's name in Russia, if you didn't know ^^).
Let me tell you Bim's story, it is an amazing story of one very lucky homeless little dog in Korea.
On Friday, Feb, 15th, Natalya and her husband were driving home somewhere on a busy road near Suwon. Suddenly a tiny badly matted dog appeared on the side of the road and started crossing the road, not paying any attention to the cars around him. The next moment Natalya and her husband saw some car that went past them at speed (they said not less than 100km/h), hit the dog, and left. The dog wasn't moving. Like it wasn't bad enough that he got hit by a car - he ended up in the way of oncoming traffic! Natalya had just a few seconds to leave her car, run to him, and grab him before cars from oncoming traffic would hit the body again. First she thought the dog was dead, but a few seconds later he tried to open his eyes! He was bleeding, but alive! The next step was to find a vet. Not being dog owners, Natalya and her husband didn't know any vet clinics in the area. Finally, they found one. X-ray, general check up, the vet stopped bleeding: result - the dog is fine. Not a single broken bone! Can you believe it? The vet also said that the dog probably spent a lot of time on the street: he was badly matted and looked really abandoned.
After the vet Natalya brought the dog home. They gave him a bath, cut some really bad mats, and let the dog rest.
The next day Bim had some food, went outside for his business, and then slept some more.
Now why Natalya can't keep Bim: her family has a girl who is highly allergic, not only to dogs. They are risking a lot keeping Bim in their home, but both Natalya and her husband believe that such a lucky dog needs a second chance, that's for sure.
