In the second week of February, 2013, Jinyeong, a white jindo dog, was seen being dragged behind a motorcycle. A group of youngsters had been chasing the driver of the motorcycle for some time. When I managed to catch up with the motorbike, it had been dragging the the dog for 20-30 minutes. The dog was terrified, completely drained for trying to keep up with the bike pulling her, and she was bleeding from her belly and legs.
At this point, a number of people had gathered around the dog, chastizing the driver for being so negligent. We took the dog away from the driver and brought it to a vet where her wounds were tended to. Afterwards, I visited the police office to see how such cruelty could be handled in a legal sense. (Unfortunately, perhaps predictably, legal justice has failed the dog. Let's just say that Jinyoung very nearly ended up back with the motorcycle driver.)
Since that day, Jinyoung has been staying at the Donghae shelter. While her physical wounds have healed, she has still not been able to receive the kind of attention and love she needs to come out of her shell, so to speak. She gets along with the large group of smaller dogs at the shelter, but when approached by humans, she is extremely timid. There she waits for someone to bring her into their family, to show her the love she has yet to ever receive.

Oh God...
Thank you very much for helping her. She would be long gone, if not your help.
Is Donghae shelter a no-kill shelter?

Yes. The Donghae shelter is run by a retired school teacher, who has been devoting herself to caring for the abandoned animals. The dogs and cats are well cared. Thanks for your reply, Sofia.

How awful!! So glad you were able to help her.
She sounds like Kalea did as far as the shyness goes. Potential adopters, please give her a chance! My dog was EXTREMELY timid of almost everything. She has made SO much progress and has so much love to still give.
Look at that face!!!!!

I took Jinyoung out of the Donghae shelter last Friday. Since then, she has been fostered at my place in Pyeongchang. She will meet her new family tomorrow. Jinyoung, who hadn't been much in a car ride before, was extremely nervous in the car for two hours. She kept drooling and right before she got out, she puked. Never having walked by a human being, she was very purplexed on her first walk around the house, but now she is such good company evey morning. She doesn't even need a leash now.
The woman who has decided to adopt Jinyoung lives in Bonghwa, Kyongsangbukdo. I'll take Jinyoung to her place tomorrow. Hope she adjusts to her new life! Thanks for your concern, everyone!

This is great!
Please make a name tag with her new owner's phone number for Jinyoung's collar. She is shy, and in case something happens... A name tag with owner's phone number can save dog's life. We will send our best wishes to this beautiful lady!
