Update 8th July
Shirley's foster brought Shirley to meet some new people during the volunteer day at BAPS but seeing Shirley walking with other people made her realize that she couldn't be parted from her little girl so she has decided to adopt Shirley.
Shirley is a loving and affectionate BAPS dog, she is currently in foster care but is still looking for her forever home. Shirley's foster mom has this to say about this adorable little girl.
"Shirley is the most loving creature I have ever come in contact with. I've had lots of dogs and cats in the past and have a dog that I adopted here in Korea so I have a healthy basis for comparison, it's not me being bias. She loves snuggling and licking your face off and does the cutest little dance around your feet when she greets you at the door. She loves my dog Alf, loves snuggling with him on the few occasions that he'll let her!
I clean their eyes every day and when I clean Alf's she'll try to help. I clean one, she cleans the other. Incredibly cute! She is a 5/6 year old Cocker Spaniel and typical of the breed in her energy. She loves loves loves walks and play time, however she is super chilled at home. She does bark at the doorbell but as soon as she sniffs the person the barking turns into licking. I'm working on that with her and it's getting better. She's incredibly clever. She sits, waits, gives her paw, will sit and wait for her food or a treat and won't eat it until you say 'OK'.
The perfect home for Shirley would be one where she's walked every day (at least an hour), played with regularly and provided as many belly rubs and snuggles as possible and someone who's willing to continue with her training. She's VERY small for her breed. She is not a typical sized Cocker Spaniel. She's great with the vet (this is something I personally think is important to mention. My other dog is a nightmare! Won't let the vet as much as touch him. Shirley will let the vet turn her inside out if needs be!). Whatever love you give Shirley will be returned to you 1,000,000 fold. She is a truly awesome dog."
As with all BAPS (Busan Abandoned Pet Sanctuary) pups, anyone interested in adopting or fostering Anne Shirley will need to volunteer 2 weekends in a row. All that means is you get to come walk our dogs from 11-3 any Sunday! Anyone interested in making Anne Shirley a part of their family will need to complete a one month trial adoption first, to ensure that everyone gets along and you are the perfect match!
