Ah Chil (아칠)... aka Baby Seven

Update: Congrats to Ashley and Graham for adopting Pepero (formerly Ah Chil). They came and picked him up yesterday afternoon and I am very happy for both of them and for Pepero to have found a wonderful new forever home. I will post any updates and more photos when I get some. It's a bittersweet goodbye, but in the end I have no regrets...just a few tears of happiness for him.

Good luck and all the best to Pepero, Ashley and Graham. Thank you again for adopting and not buying!

Update: This past weekend was a big weekend for Ah Chil. He met with two possible adopters and now he is preparing to go home with one lucky person to his new forever home. It will be a bittersweet parting but I know he will be loved and cared for. I will post up another update once it's all finalized. He has had some small but very important milestones in his time with me, and now he will continue to have many, many more with his new family.

I am currently fostering Ah Chil (아 칠)...aka Baby Seven. He is such a smart n chilled 7 months old puppy, hence the name (Ah = Baby in Hmong/ Chil = double meaning - 7 in Korean n short for chilled). Since I have never had my own puppy before...just dog-sitting, I'm not very good with training him. But he seems to catch on really quick and hasn't had any accidents aside from the first 2 days with me, on the bathroom floor.

I've already taken care of having him neutered, which is great since he is still a young puppy. He is up-to-date with all his shots and good to go until next year's shots. He is also already micro-chipped and all paperwork will be provided. Ah Chil tested negative for heartworm and he has already been given his monthly treatment to prevent him from contracting heartworm. Ah Chil's vet, Dr. Kim, says he is a healthy, growing puppy. Dr.Kim estimated his age to be about 7/8 months based on his teeth, which are also healthy.

Ah Chil is mixed with papillon (not sure of the other mix - some people have suggested possibly border collie, but he's not that big) and he weighs in just under 6 kg so he isn't a very big dog (only by Korean standards, which I think is why he was probably given up). He has the beautiful signature "butterfly" ears like papillon breeds are known for. He also has great agility as well, so I am sure with patience and training he would be able to do some amazing tricks.

Due to personal issues, I will not be able to give him a forever home, but I didn't want his short life to end before it has even started. I rescued him from a local shelter who told me he was so lucky to be with me because his time was up soon. I couldn't fight for all the other dogs, but he was so calm n chilled, I felt like he was going to make someone very happy n deserves a chance to live a long, happy life with someone who could give him a safe forever home.

Ah Chil will come with his crate, leash (collar & harness), his food bowls, all his toys and any remaining dog food. Please contact me for any additional information or if you want to come visit Ah Chil - I live in Ilsan, near Lake Park (호수공원). My current contract will be ending in a few months, so I hope someone will be able to adopt this beautiful puppy before then.

***For anyone who is serious about adopting Ah Chil, please don't let the adoption fee stop you. I am willing to be flexible about the amount, IF I know he will be given a safe and happy forever home.
