I believe we have found a place in the US for Tani, but while he is waiting for funds to be raised for his flight, he remains in foster care. He has proven to be as difficult of a foster dog as I imagined he would be and I truly admire his foster family for rising to the challenge. If I come back on here in the next few days with a desperate plea for a new foster, you'll all understand why.

Tani, the four time escapee from Itaewon was unceremoniously left behind when his owner returned for good to the USA this week citing that "the finances didn't work out."
I don't know much about Tani or his owner, but I was asked by the on-post Vet to try and find somewhere for him to go. He is currently staying at the Pet Care Center on base (the kennel), but obviously this situation is not a long-term one, especially as he has no owner to foot his bill and we are relying on the kindness of strangers to support his stay.
He needs a competent foster ready for a challenge in the short-term and a proper home soon thereafter. Although he has proven himself as an escape artist, the Vet's office says he is a wonderful, sweet dog who is very affectionate and friendly. As I have two huskies myself, I know that they need stability, consistent discipline and a safe environment, none of which he has at the moment.
If you think you are able to help, please email me. Thank you.

Merry Christmas indeed. Tani, now known as Yani has been adopted by a beautiful and kind couple. We are all elated to know that Yani is in safe hands and well taken care of. Thanks to the lovely couple on this blessed day.

I have asked for the directions, time, etc. on how to get there. From next week, while others go on holiday, I will be working
from 1 to 8 so, I will have time only in the mornings. If the person who posted Tani's picture speaks English, I can put you in direct contact with her. We'll work something out. Thank you for your interest in Tani. I like the picture of your black dog. I used to have a black cocker spaniel who was pure love but she passed away from a heart attack.

Ours is an Affenpinscher Mix. She is our world! :) She was a rescue as well and we couldn't have asked for a better match. Her companion passed away earlier this year from cancer. She was 14 though and had lived a happy healthy long life. We have grieved and feel that our pup needs a companion. I feel she is lonely. We have been looking at a husky or malamute for her as we are very active and outdoor folks. I hope Tani might be a good match. It is hard to find rescues in that breed that are animal friendly. If Tani is not a good match for us, I would at least like to foster him since he is in a kill shelter. Husky and Malamute pups have a hard life in shelters as they are very active. When you have details on his location please let me know!
Thanks!
Lisa

Affenpinscher Mix is a smart looking one. DO you have a mobile number where we can reach you? And, in what part of Seoul do you live?

The lady who brought awareness of Tani in the shelter has an email, if you want to contact her yourself. It is: [email protected]. At the shelter there is also a black labrador and a collie, too.

I haven't had a chance to check my emails. Sorry for the delay. I do not live in Seoul, I live in Pyeongtaek. So I will not be able to come visit until next weekend. I will give the caretaker a call this week. Thank you so much for your time and being so helpful!

Thank you for your reply. I have sent a text message to Tani's caretaker about your intentions for next weekend's possible trip to see Tani and that you would call her sometime next week. Have a Merry Christmas.

Tani was relisted for adoption this month. I have merged the new information into this listing so that everything can be in one place.
