February 22: UPDATE!
Great news! Sam has officially been adopted by a great couple! He is healthy, happy, and being smothered with love by his new family.
---------------------------------------
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I’ll love you for life,
If you’ll love me too.
I’m Sam. I’m three or four years old, 34 kgs, and I’m a handsome yellow lab. I’m a fun loving and gentle guy, looking for a like minded owner who can treat me right. I love long walks along the beach, and I’m ready for a long and steady relationship.
What Sam’s friends think of him:
Sam is a great friend. Everyone is in love with him. Nobody can believe his good manners and trusting temperament, despite having come from the streets to a shelter, and then to his current foster home. Sam was rescued only recently, and already has a huge fan base of people asking after him. One of the many reasons he has become so popular is because of his gentle and well-tempered personality. Sam hardly makes a peep; in fact, we have never heard him bark!
He loves being around people and people love being around him. Sam is a constant companion. His eyes follow you around the room, watching you cook, clean, and get ready for work. At night you can find him asleep in his doggy bed, quietly roaming the house, or sitting at the front door protecting you whilst you sleep. He is constantly holding something in his mouth, whether it is a bone, a teddy bear, or his squeaky duck. He is a big teddy bear himself and will do anything for a belly rub. He has been fairly shy with other animals, and has hidden behind us when there has been a smaller dog barking away at him. However his trusting manner assures us that he could easily adjust to a home with animals.
Sam’s health is good, and he is becoming more and more energetic every day. He is a great walker, and will stroll along by your side well, only tugging on the leash when he sees a cat! Sam is currently un-neutered, and negative for heartworm. He is in good health and has a normal appetite.
Sam responds well to commands, but still has some things to learn. Sam currently has his own bedroom, but prefers to sleep on the floor in the same room as his foster parents. This just shows how much he wants people around him making him feel loved.
Sam’s rescue story: Sam was rescued from death row at Karama shelter on 29th January, 2014. He is currently living near Itaewon in Seoul in an apartment. He is not overly energetic, so being without a yard doesn’t seem to be an issue for him. He just seems to be happy if he has people around him. He is desperate for a kind family who will show him the love he deserves!
