Description:

11 June 2014:
The kind of update that we all love... Ntombi's foster dad has decided that he needs her in his life, forever, and she will be moving home to the USA next year. She has a new name - Nymeria - which is just as pretty as she is. Thank you Kevin! I love this happy ending!

31 May 2014:
Update from Ntombi's foster dad:

This is the face of one very happy and HEALTHY pup!
It's been 3 weeks since Ntombi's immiticide injections, and the vet says she's in good shape. She is now finally OFF medicine and allowed to run and play outside, just as she's been dying to do for the last week or so. The first week and a half of treatment was rough; She was in a lot of pain and generally feeling pretty terrible. But she was a champ. A little over a week ago, she started showing very obvious signs that she was feeling better: increased appetite, a LOT more energy, etc.

Now she can get on with the business of being a regular dog. She'll need to go back to the vet after 3 months of heartguard treatment for another check-up, but for the time being she is in the clear. I think she's as excited as I am about hitting the mountain trails and getting some exercise.

Soon, I'll be posting another update with some more info as well as some photos and videos of Ntombi at home and on walks around the neighborhood, so you can all see what a great dog she is.

9 May 2014:
Poor Ntombi received her first immiticide injection today to start killing off those heartworms. Her foster dad says at first she was very restless and wouldn't sit still. She kept whimpering and it was horrible to see. Why don't people just give their dogs heartworm prevention?! Honestly! It beggars belief! Thank you Kevin for helping her through this tough time. Good luck Ntombi!

23 April 2014:
Ntombi is doing so wonderfully in her foster home! I saw her and her foster dad today and we all went to the vet to discuss her heartworm treatment. It was discovered that she has pneumonia, so she will be treated for that first. Once her pneumonia has cleared up she will begin her heartworm treatment, which has been diagnosed as grade 1.

16 April 2014:
Beautiful Ntombi has found a foster home. We are in the process of getting her there and settled and will update here soon! Thank you Kevin, for falling in love with this girl & opening your home to her.

31 March 2014:
Ntombi has been diagnosed with heartworm. :( We don't know what grade, yet. We would desperately like to have her in a foster home where she can undergo the treatment in a calm environment, for her own safety. Please contact Stephanie or Clare if you can assist.

15 March 2014:
Ntombi received heartworm prevention, Frontline & some loving today.

----------------------------------------------

Ntombi the beautiful one, is a recent arrival at Asan Shelter. Her name suits her perfectly, as she is by far one of the most stunningly beautiful dogs I have encountered in a long, long time. Moreover, she has a lovely personality to suit her looks.

When we first saw her she was in a cage that cramped her longish legs and it was only after she was brought out that we were able to admire her stunning beauty and be charmed by her sweet, gentle personality.

Ntombi is a young, petite Jindo. After a moments hesitation, she settled comfortably in my arms and then when I put her down she wiggled between my legs and just hung out, surveying the scene. As long as she was touching me, she was calm.

She came into the shelter severely underweight, but seems to be healthy nonetheless. She craves human affection and attention. We introduced to another dog briefly and she definitely wanted to play. There was no sign of dog aggression.

Ntombi has wide tawny eyes that look deep into your soul. If you look into them long enough, she will enchant you, ask Clare. Her eyes and personality yearn for a permanent, safe home, and a place to call her own. When we left her, she had taken Peep's place in the outdoor dog house, and while she was finally able to stretch her legs, the shelter does not suit this beautiful girl.

Please consider adding this gorgeous girl to your family.

Thank you.

Ntombi is a petite little Jindo female who seeks out head scratches and bum scratches. :) She is young and will transition nicely into a home environment. It would be best for her to go into a home sooner rather than later. She is so gorgeous - she'd make a lovely couch accessory.

Here she is on 15 March 2014:

What a gorgeous dog! I wish her all the best - hope she finds an owner or foster home soon.

She's so lovely, and looks extremely friendly - like a cuddlebug waiting to cuddle. I hope she finds a foster soon!

After visiting the shelter yesterday, I have decided to foster Ntombi. She'll be coming home with me very soon.

As her profile already states, she's a very sweet, gentle little jindo girl. She was SO happy to go for a walk (her first in a long time, I'm told). She had a ton of energy and really wanted to run, but I had to try to keep her calm due to her heartworm condition. Hopefully she'll be recovered and running up Taejosan with me in a few weeks.

I'm happy to keep her as long as necessary, but she needs a forever home. Some family will be very lucky to have her. I'll definitely be posting photos and updates on her transition to life in her new foster home. Please get in touch if you're interested in adoption.

Here's some pictures from the shelter yesterday (April 12)
