September 15th: Mung-gu has been meeting all kinds of new friends these days. She loves having visitors and is just waiting for the day when it will be her turn to leave the shelter. She received a dose of Frontline today, and was moved to the cages under the green roof because she has been escaping her pen on the hill. Think she is trying to tell us something?
September 1st: Mung-gu is still waiting patiently for that special someone: she knows they're out there...and so do I!
July 14th: Mung-gu had some visitors today and was a very good girl! She is so calm and mellow, people are always shocked at how wonderfully she behaves. No wonder everyone who meets her falls in love!~~
June 24th: Mung-gu tested NEGATIVE for heartworm today and was vaccinated against rabies and received a DHPPL booster. This healthy girl is ready for her forever home ---- NOW!!!
June 2nd: Mung-gu is as sweet and chill as ever. On Sunday, after a short walk, she was happy to hang out in her crate while the other volunteers groomed some dogs. Mung-gu only wants to be near people. That's all. :)
May 27th: Mung-gu is so lonely. Why don't you come spend some time with this sweet girl at Asan shelter?
May 20th: Mung-gu has been moved to a more spacious run on the side of the hill, but she doesn't care. The only thing she cares about is having someone to cuddle with, 24/7!!
May 13th: Mung-gu went for a nice walk today with a volunteer and had a great time posing for pictures. She loves any and all forms of attention! :)
Mung-gu is a wonderfully loving and sweet girl. She absolutely loves any and all forms of attention, including but not limited to: hugging, petting, kissing, walking, feeding, ear-scratching, and lap-sitting. Mung-gu is a very relaxed and calm girl, but she can't be trusted around other dogs for the time being. She has exhibited some food aggression towards other animals and needs an experienced and patient owner who is familiar with how to handle the traits of her breed. Mung-gu is extremely people oriented, and it is clear that she is very depressed living at a cage in the shelter. Mung-gu would be an exceptionally loving and devoted companion, and she deserves nothing less in return.
March 8th: Mung-gu's cage is full of muck and since she is a princess, she would prefer somewhere dry, soft and clean to sleep. Can you give Mung-gu the bed she deserves? Please consider this wonderful girl!
April 19th: Mung-gu enjoyed some time out of her cage basking in the sunlight today. She is as happy as ever!
I honestly have no idea why Mung-gu is still at Asan. She has been waiting for so long. She is so sweet...I don't know how else to say it: she is the most people oriented dog I've ever known. She would rather sit in your lap and be hugged than go for a walk. I don't know why she is so happy...Waiting so long for a family hasn't damaged her beautiful soul.

I tried emailing the contact about Mung-gu but haven't heard anything back. My family and I are very interested in meeting her and hopefully making her a part of our family. Please let me know what I need to do to make this happen.

Hi EC, that is wonderful news! Mung-gu is a special special girl. When did you send the e-mail? I know Allison has her hands full and it's probably on her to-do list to reply to you OR she hasn't yet had a chance to look at it. What can I say??? This girl is AMAZING!! She is a people lover, and just wants to play, and be loved all day! Yesterday, Mung-Gu got the chance to get out of her cage, and go for a nice long walk with one of the volunteers -- she did great, and all without a peep.
I swear that Mung-Gu doesnt even know her breed. She may believe shes a small dog, who wants the same love and affection from her owner. She'll enjoy sitting on your lap, going for a walk & keeping you warm on a cold winter night! PLEASE consider Mung-Gu shes a precious little girl who is desperately seeking her furever home :)

Mung-Gu is a very sweet, medium-energy dog. She would love an active family who can give her plenty of attention.
She’s a happy and social girl who loves every single person she meets. She loves getting cuddled and loved on, yummy treats.

MungGu was as lovable as ever today. She did not want to go back to her cage though. I am so excited for the day when she has a home to go to instead. She will make someone very happy. Please take this loving lady home with you. And if you see the pictures and say no, i don't believe it, please come. she will hug you and kiss you and climb into your heart like she has with the rest of us.

Hello. My name is Mung-Gu. I have been residing at the Asan shelter for almost a year now. I am energetic and would make a good companion. I am told that I am smart, but I have no way of knowing that nor do I care. I am good on a leash, and I love my treats. You see, no matter how wonderful I am, I will stay here forever if I won't be adopted. I really need you to help me find a place to go. If you can't adopt me, maybe you know someone else who will open their heart and home to me. Perhaps you know an all breed rescue that could help me find a forever home. The shelter staff and volunteers have come to know and love me (that's why I have been here so long) and they have tried so hard to help me find a home, but so far no luck. I am begging for my life. Please help me find a family so that I can show them what unconditional love really is - I have so much to give and so much life left to live - at least I hope so...

Very unusual to see American pit bulls here. Somebody once paid a lot for her, I bet, yet somehow she ended up at the shelter. Hope somebody American will take her back to her homeland -I believe they are banned from entering some other countries due to their bad reputation.

Mung-gu was rescued from a home where she was chained on the typical very short chain, and where the conditions were quite abysmal. Fortunately, the owners found it their hearts to overcome their pride and let her be rescued. Thank God for them doing that. Her sister (or brother?) was rescued and adopted early on, but Mung-gu still waits for her forever home. Mung-gu has forever changed my opinion and preconceived ideas about pitbulls....
