I cannot believe how adorable Bentley is! He Ihas a face like a teddy bear!

Hello. Thanks for the interest in Bentley. Hes an great, happy little guy. Keep us posted on your move/housing, and when ready I can send you a copy of the application form. Welcome to Korea :)

I'm sure you already know, but just a reminder.. When searching for housing, double check that the building allows dogs. Sometimes, building managers have a problem with dogs.. and some have no issues. Its best to get it cleared if possible, before committing to a particular building.

This boy needs a forever home.

Big, baby-boy Bentley!

allisondyoung's picture

Why is this amazing dog still waiting? Bentley got some extra canned food today, AND a nice long walk. He is lucky...But not lucky enough to find a forever home it seems. :(

yasminaaa's picture

I so badly want to adopt Bentley! I keep having dreams of going for walks with him. It's ridiculous. I have taken a job at Gumi near Daegu and I still need to check to see whether the building manager will allow pets. I will need to speak to them (which I will do by the end of this month) and see whether it will be possible.

Yasminaaa-- Great! Hopefully your landlord approves. Are you familiar with the foster/adoption application? Hopefully all goes well with your housing. Keep us updated! :)

Consider Bentley. He deserves to be loved!

What a SWEETHEART! Bentley and I went on a walk this weekend and he was so good on his leash. He loved just being petted and given some treats. He is so friendly and his little eyes are so adorable. Love him so much!

Hello, hungry boy!! Why haven't you been adopted yet??

Sofia's picture

Bentley is back in Asan shelter. He is available for adoption.
Bentley's future adopter needs to know that Bentley can be protective of stuffed toys. He will need some training and a lot of exersice (would be interesting to read: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Dogs-701/Dog-protective-stuffed-toy.htm).

From Bentley's former foster: "Bentley is house trained/very quick to adapt to house training. I could leave him at home while at work and no accidents at all."

Please consider giving this guy forever home.

Big boy Bentley had a great walk today. Please consider this wonderful guy!

Bentley's health record.
Yasmin, thank you for sponsoring Bentley ~

Sofia's picture

Bentley is a handsome young Samoyed. He is one stiking fellow! Bentley is true to his breed. He is active, energetic and full of energy. Bentley needs a home where he can get all the attention so he better be the only child in the family. He loves to be outdoors and having an active family is exactly what Bentley needs. He will do best in a home with an experienced owner who knows the Samoyed breed and an owner who has time to do activities with Bentley. He is housebroken, knows basic commands. Bentley is intelligent. He is a fun and cool dog who just needs the right family to give him lots and lots of love and attention.

On April, 13th, Bentley was neutered (Onyang animal clinic).

yasminaaa's picture

I wish him a speedy recovery. Love and kisses.

allisondyoung's picture

Bentley is recovering from his neuter surgery under the green roof. He would much rather recover at your house, though.

euo618's picture

Any idea how he reacts around cats? He looks great. :)

Sofia's picture

I don't think he was tested.
Asan animal shelter requires a visit before adoption application form can be approved.

allisondyoung's picture

Poor Bentley. Where is your home, buddy?

Hunt's picture

What happened with his first foster? Why was he returned?

allisondyoung's picture

Bentley's adoption unfortunately didn't work out, so now he's back at Asan, waiting for the perfect person to take him home!

clare_bell's picture

So sad - can't imagine the trauma of going to a home and then back to the shelter :(

misselajin's picture

He is the cutest lil thing, I’ve seen him on this site for wayyyy too long. I can’t imagine anyone giving up such a cutie...

Hi my name is mely, im really interested in adopting a dog for my 2 yr old son and myself. Bentley seems like an awesome dog. We just got settled in south korea, and weve been talking about adopting. i was wondering why the the previous adoption didnt work out? and if possible could send out an application?

allisondyoung's picture

Bentley is healthy, Bentley is happy, Bentley is HOT! Please give him a chance and get him out of this summer's heat. He's waiting for you.~~

Bentley died. On the 26th of July, 2012, he was found dead in his pen.

lotuslee's picture

Rest in peace, Bentley. I'm so sorry that you weren't able to experience a loving home again before you left for Rainbow Bridge, but I know you were loved and will be missed by many in the ARK community :*(

marlajoy's picture

Poor boy! Why do shelter dogs seem to suddenly die without cause? Are we not being told the actual cause or do people really not know what happens to them? Seriously, what causes a dog to die suddenly?! Bentley was heartworm negative.

red dog's picture

I didn't know Bentley, but he looks so beautiful in the pictures--especially the Christmas pictures! What a sweet dog.

Marlajoy, I don't think anyone is covering up his cause of death. Without an autopsy all anyone can do is guess, but Bentley had been to the vet and had no known health problems. It may have been heat-related.

Condolences to everyone who knew Bentley and helped take care of him.

marlajoy's picture

:) I didn't think it was a big conspiracy or anything I'm just confused as to why a significant number of shelter dogs just show up dead one morning. It breaks my heart to know that they passed without knowing the love of a family :(

red dog's picture

Pounds such as Karma have serious problems with distemper and other diseases. Sometimes dogs are brought to shelters and pounds with heartworm disease that's already gone undiagnosed for years. Others get into fights or accidents.

Bentley had been to a vet not that long ago, so I'm sure it wasn't distemper or heartworm or parvo. He wasn't in any fights and just seems to have collapsed in his pen one day. It's heartbreaking because he probably would have been adopted soon.

RIP Bentley.... So sorry we were not there for you fast enough :( We all miss you and love you.
