Meet Emma! Baby to the maximum!!!!!
Emma is new to the shelter, and a VERY, VERY sweet and affectionate girl. Shes extremely small and loves to be held. We spent sometime outside playing today and she did wonderful. She was digging in the snow, running around, and an absolute pleasure to be with. After she was put back, everytime I walked past her pen she got very excited and started jumping around for some more play time. I pretty positive she was a household pet, and now is extremely confused why shes been given up. Going from being loved, to basically alone in a shelter is very traumatizing. I would love it if this tiny girl could transition into a home without going through the stages of being "dumped off". It would be great to find her a home quick.. that way she can erase all memories of her past and start over.
Shes clean, her fur is gorgeous (pure white) and she has a great presence about herself (positive, upbeat). If your looking for a pet that would do awesome in ANY home, this is her. She especially loves "getting lost" in her blanket, and running around after shes out. Her entertainment includes dragging her blanket out of her dog house, watching you put it back in and dragging it back out. Personally, I think its a way to keep you always coming back to her.. but with a face like hers, its hard to simply walk away.

Winter is here, the freezing temperatures are way to much for such a small delicate body and mind.

Emmas breed is listed as "mix".. But I believe shes part Chihuahua. Shes got the body, and fur of long hair Chihuahuas.

Yes, she's a chihuahua. Looks very similar to mine. I don't think she's a mix, I think she's a deerhead chihuahua with longer hair. There is a fair amount of variation in the size, coat length, leg length, and head shape of chihuahuas so sometimes people think a chihuahua is a crossbreed when in fact they are not. She looks so cute. Is she a dominant dog?

She looks very close to my dog who is also a long haired Chihuahua. Thats why I had put that with a possible mix.. sometimes its hard to tell. She is new to the shelter, so unfortunately, I havent been around her too much.. But from our first "official" meeting, she did well around other dogs. Shes just such a playful, sweet, lovable girl. We were walking around and past other dogs -- it didnt seem to bother her at all. She kept walking, and would say hi to sniff those who came up to her. Even in her cage, she was out playing and going up to the sides and sniffing her "next door neighbors" to say hello. So, no.. Absolutely no dominance that I witnessed. Just a HUGEEEE baby!! haaha Sorry, I can not say enough about this sweetie.. she instantly became one of my favorites. Shes great with all people (male and female), walks excellent on a leash (doesnt tug) and takes treats from your hand like a good girl.

That has to be one of the shortest stays on here, as far as getting adopted. If only the others could be as lucky as Emma. Very happy to hear the news.
