Description:
Erik is a sweet boy that loves other dogs, toys, snack and a good cuddle. Erik was rescued from death row in the end of 2011 (Busan city pound).
Health status: heart worm negative, healthy, received "Advocate" on the 24th of Jan 2012.
Samoyed dogs can make good pets if they match your IifestyIe. They are gentle, fluffy, powerful dogs. Samoyeds are mellow, affectionate family pets that are wonderful with children. Sammies can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.

he is one of my favorites. Erik is so sweet to people and other dogs as well. this big boy can be a nice friend while walking in my experience. so gentle plus beautiful white hair!!

From Erik's foster mom:
"We took Erik for a nice long walk on the river today. He was getting a lot better on his leash when we were down there, but as soon as he got back to street level he started pulling like crazy again. But I don't think it will take too long to break, he is just so happy to see all the cars and people that he can't contain himself. He will be an amazing walking companion once his habits are broken though. We ran into an off leash golden retriever and Erik was wonderful with him. I can't say enough goods things about him, he has already stolen our hearts. If you have the room and love to offer him a forever home, there will be no end to the doggy smiles and tail wags you get from him. Also, if you like lap dogs, Erik tends to think he is one".

Erik is being so good, he has give, sit and stay pretty consistent, even out on walks sometimes. When we are in the house with no distractions, he is starting to sit while I put a treat or food on the floor and not going for it until I give the command and he takes everything so incredibly gently, even the treat on the floor.
He loves getting brushed once you can get him calm enough to sit long enough. He even rolls over so you can get his belly. He also loves playing fetch in the house (we have a hall that I'm guessing is around 15 feet long) and outside, but he is stuck on his leash outside so can't chase the ball as far.
He hasn't barked yet and only whimpers for about 5-10 minutes at night when we go to bed. He is getting better on the leash, but still jumps up when people approach him, but this is an improvement from jumping up every time something moved, haha.
I can't even begin to explain how much love and happiness Erik will add to the right household

We just got back from the vet, and Erik is a healthy boy.
Although, he is 20.5 kg right now and both the vet and I agree that he is quite underweight, so we're going to fatten him up a bit, but can someone please update his profile to "large" rather than "medium"

Erik is amazing, he just loves life and everything about it. He loves people, especially children, although he still has A LOT of his puppy energy left, and doesn't realize his size yet, so as much as he loves them I do not recommend a home with small children. He is super gentle when he takes things and love, love, loves belly rubs. We have recently given him, yet another, bath, so he is super white and fluffy. He is getting better on the leash, and only pulls when he really wants something now. We have also just been letting him stay loose in our apartment while we are out (because he is quite the escape artist with gates and bathroom doors), and other than one time coming home to a roll of chewed up paper towel, he has not got into any trouble at all. He is super quiet, at most, he will whimper a little at the door when we leave. The only time he barks is when he sees another dog that he wants to play with, but the owners are freaked out by his size, so run the other way with their little dog.
In summary, if you are looking for the perfect combination of energy and cuddles, look no further!

So, after just 2 short weeks, Erik has stolen our hearts and we can't imagine not having him as part of our lives.
Therefor, we have decided to permanently adopt him and provide him with his forever home.
