Great news! Peanut was adopted by her foster mom. She has almost completed her heart worm treatment and is doing very well. Thank you to everyone who donated to help Peanut become the healthy, wonderful doggie she is today. Congratulations, Peanut!! :)
Peanut was brought to Asan shelter from the pound on January 28th, 2012. Lucky for her, she only spent a short time at Asan and was taken in to foster care the very next day! From Peanut's foster mom:
"She is a great dog! She is extremely loving, with tons of frequent kisses and she loves to lay with you wherever you are in the house. She walks perfectly on a leash but is a little nervous of people, animals and noises when we are out but she is improving on her confidence everyday. She is a very sweet dog with a gentle personality but when she relaxes she can get a bit goofy :)
She is a very nervous dog and definitely has separation anxiety when I leave the house to go to work, but we are working on this everyday and she is getting better and better.
She is pretty good about waiting to go to the bathroom outside. If we are gone to work, she always goes to the bathroom on the little pad I left out. She only chewed stuff the very first day I left her home alone, but now that she trusts more, she doesnt chew anything.
She is a little nervous around kids and men, but she is getting better and I try to take her around children as often as I can. I am not sure how she is around cats, but she is very gentle although a little nervous around other dogs :)"
Peanut update, March 6th: Unfortunately, poor little Peanut has been diagnosed with a skin infection and heartworm. The vet said they caught the heartworm early, so she should beat it! The vet also said he could tell she lived in very, very poor conditions before the shelter and was very malnourished. It seems as though Peanut has been through a lot, but her foster mom says she is still so loving and sweet!
Peanut's foster mom has been very kind to open her home to Peanut, however some financial help is needed in order to pay for her vet bills. For Peanut's skin condition, health-check and heartworm treatment, we need to raise 500,000 Korean won. If you are able to donate to help little Peanut, please contact me here.
If you are interested in adopting this cute little gal, please fill out the adoption application form and email it to [email protected]
