What a charming guy! Messi will steal your heart...He is truly one of the most immediately likeable dogs I've ever met. Such a friendly, adorable doggy. He loves walking and is very good on a leash. He's very playful, but not overly jumpy. On the first volunteer trip since Messi came to Daejeon Paws, a few of us were contemplating bringing him home, he's such a cuddly fellow. He would certainly make a great little pal!
Messi (named after a famous football player) was with a family for about a year. They abandoned him at the Emart vet clinic in Daejeon because they couldn't stand his coughing. Dr. Lee kept him at the clinic for about two months and carefully checked and treated him. Messi definitely doesn't have any contagious condition or any of the serious conditions that can cause a cough. It seems that he has what's known as a "nuisance cough" which can have very simple causes, like sensitivity to certain things in the air. It can be treated in the same way that asthma is treated in people, and isn't a big issue, but it's important to note that he does have a health issue that requires care. It's a shame that Messi's family wouldn't take the time to find out what was bothering him or how to help him. Anyway, we think Messi is absolutely loveable, and I hope you'll consider fostering or adopting him. If you'd like to meet Messi, please let me know!
