June 3rd: Last month, Emma was adopted to a wonderful family in Texas. What a wonderful thing to happen to a wonderful dog like Emma!
March 11th: Emma made it to Texas safe and sound with her foster family! I have changed her status to 'no longer available' since she won't be adopted out in Korea, but hopefully I will be able to change it to 'ADOPTED' in the near future! A HUGE thank you to Emma's foster family. What a lucky girl!
February 10th: Lucky Emma went into foster care in Seoul today! She will be staying with her foster parents and new doggy brother, Ralf, until the end of the month when they will all travel to Texas together in search of her forever home! Keep checking back for exciting news about Emma's new life! Thank you Claire, Mikey, and Ralf!
January 13th: A few weeks ago, a very kind and generous volunteer sponsored Emma for one month of training at the center in Seoul. We visited Emma today, and she looks wonderful! I have never seen her so happy or vibrant! She is getting along well with the other dogs at the center, and has learned to sit. She was very sweet to a little boy who came to visit her today, and was just so happy to be out and about and running around. If you are interested in meeting Emma at the training center, please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected]!
December 30th: Yesterday was the day that sweet Emma's luck finally began to CHANGE! A lovely lady named Tatiana has sponsored Emma for a one month stay at the training facility in Seoul. This will get Emma out of the cold, and into a stable environment. Emma will learn basic obedience while she stays at the center, so check back regularly for pictures, videos, and progress reports on little Emma! If you are interested in visiting the training center in Seoul to meet Emma, please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
December 24th: Emma will be spending Christmas alone at Asan Shelter this year. I hope that she will find her forever family soon, so that all her Christmases from now on will be warm and full of love. Merry Christmas, Emma!
December 9th: Emma is WAITING FOR YOU!!! SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE! Why hasn't anyone adopted this insanely wonderful dog! I know that she will make the perfect friend to anyone who will give her the chance! She deserves so much more than that cold cage at Asan. Please, please, PLEASE consider this sweet little girl.
November 24th: It is getting COLD outside, and Emma wants out of Asan. Please consider helping this lovely lady find the home she deserves by fostering --- or better yet --- adopting! ;)
November 11th: Emma was wet and cold on Sunday, and wondering why she has had to wait so long for someone to take notice of her. She is small, beautiful, friendly, and cuddly; all she is missing is someone to share her wonderful personality with! Emma has the prettiest, softest white fur and would love to go somewhere she could be clean and dry all the time. Please consider this sweet girl. She really needs your help!
November 3rd: Emma is so sweet and friendly. One by one, all four of Emma's pups have been adopted. First Ringo, then Rosen, then Rupert, and last week, Russia. It is time for sweet Emma to leave the shelter too. Won't someone give her a chance? She has been waiting too long.
October 13th: Emma received heartworm prevention this weekend to make sure she remains healthy and adoptable! :)
October 6th: Emma is a sweet natured dog who's had a tough go and is looking for a break. She is smart, sweet, and loyal. Emma will love you more than anything if you let her, and she would be a very happy dog if she had her very own family. Please cross your fingers that Emma's luck will begin to change soon! She deserves it.
September 22nd: Emma got a walk AND an extra snack today! It was her lucky day...
September 15th: Emma is waiting, waiting, waiting. Of her little family, she and her daughter Russia are the only two left. Russia's brothers have all been adopted to lovely homes, so now it's the girls' turn! What do you think? If you are interested in meeting this smart, beautiful dog, please contact me at [email protected].
July 14th: Emma escaped from her cage today and was granted an hour or so of freedom, which is her favorite thing in the world. Food and people take the second and third spots, so what this girl *really* needs is someone who can take her for walks/runs, feed her delicious things, and love the living daylights out of her!! If you or anyone you know fit the bill, please contact me at [email protected].
June 24th: Emma is no longer allowed to run free around the shelter, and she certainly doesn't like being relegated to her cage one bit! Emma needs to find someone who can shower her with love and affection, and show her the finer things that life has to offer.
June17th: Emma doing fine at the shelter, but she would really love a person of her own to teach her about all the wonderful things in life: going for long walks, cuddling on the couch, and having a home to call her own. Please consider this wonderful dog! She is simply lovely!
Emma came to Asan from the city pound this past winter. She was already pregnant, and gave birth to four healthy pups a few months ago. (Rosen, Ringo, Rupert, and Russia!) Emma has since been spayed and is now looking for her very own home. She is one of the most affectionate and sweet dogs at Asan, and does not discriminate in terms of who she'll shower with kisses and love! She loves treats and getting attention from volunteers, and gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter. Emma is learning how to walk on a leash, since she is so used to roaming around free, rather than being tethered. Emma would make a great companion for someone who is moderately active but also likes to relax. :) Emma needs someone to show her what it's like to belong to someone. Please consider fostering or adopting this pretty pup!~

She did NOT want to go walking, until Mr. Park gave her a couple of words of encouragement, and then she was off!

She really is a nice dog!! She was being walked by a wonderful volunteer named Sun, and from what I saw, after a bit of a slow start, Emma seemed to get right in the groove and didn't have too much trouble with the leash!

Lots of new volunteers visited on Saturday and did lots of organizing and cleaning of the kennel areas. They also teamed-up and helped with making sure every dog got a freshly cleaned dog house put in their pen. Each dog house was the lined with the brand new self-warming heating pads that arrived this week.
It is getting cold and windy at Asan, so come out and visit the great animals there, like Emma, who are ready for a second chance. Please consider coming out, donating your time and energy or, better yet, foster or adopt one of these beautiful animals waiting for a new family at Asan Shelter as the cold Winter months approach.

Here is an adorable picture of Emma and her new foster brother, Ralf. From Emma's foster mom:
"She is doing incredibly well in the house so far. We went on a short walk after we got to HBC and then she ate a big bowl of food. I was really surprised to see her eating so well. I make homemade food for Ralf (lentils, oats, brown rice, apple and veggies) and mix it with his Orijen dry food. I was worried that Emma might need some time to get used to the new food, but she gobbled it up and drank a bunch of water.
She has been quiet but incredibly playful. She and Ralf LOVE each other and are licking each other's faces as I type this ^^ We had some people stop by the apartment and she was super polite to them and didn't bark once when they came to the door. She is in love with the floor heater and keep rolling around on the floor. She is super relaxed and happy!
I expect her to sleep well tonight after all her adventures today. Thank you so much for everything you have done to help her get this far!! I will keep updating with lots of photos!"
Thank you so much, Claire! Congratulations on your new foster home, Emma! You really hit the jackpot! :)
