We are so happy! We have found someone to look after Willy for us while we do our teaching course so we officially adopted him today! We are so lucky to have Willy as part of our family permanently now!
*we need your help*

Willy's situation has changed. Myself and my boyfriend love him with all of our heart and at this stage could never imagine leaving him behind! We have decided to adopt him so that we can be a family and give him all of the love that he deserves! We are so excited but need some help. As adoption was never part of the plan we have made some plans after we leave in March. We are going to complete a CELTA course in Thailand and then look for jobs once we are CELTA certified. This means that we will be in a transient lifestyle for what could be up to 4 months. So this means that we will need a person to foster Willy for what could be up to 4 months.
We would prefer someone that is living close to the Busan/Gimhae/Changwon area as he will need to be brought to Mina Seo's vet clinic for all of his pre-travel needs! We will help you as much as we can with him and will always just be a skype call away. You would be doing us a huge favour and be bringing Willy one step closer to his forever home.
Willy won't be up for foster until the very end of Febuary/March but you can meet him as often as you would like beforehand. We desperately want to adopt him and hope that someone can help!
The best thing about fostering him is that he guaranteed a home at the end of it and you can just enjoy your time with him instead of worrying about finding an owner before you leave!
We haven't officially adopted him yet as we need to know that there will be someone to look after him here while we are away. I hope you can help!!
Willy is going to be in the BAPS calendar! He is going to be Mr December, we took some wonderful Christmas photos of him which I'll post soon. If you would like to order a calendar (all proceeds go to BAPS) please let me know :)
**Update** This 18 month old American Cocker Spaniel is a fun, loveable, playful, cuddly, high-spirited, wonderful dog that DOES TRICKS (sit, stay, lay, shake, roll-over, play dead)! He is such a fast learner. Since we've been fostering him, he has improved drastically. When we took him from the shelter he was a skinny, hyper-active, dog that whimpered constantly and had no discipline whatsoever, but now he's become pee-pad trained, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, has learned some tricks, his legs have improved alot, and is much better with his discipline, generally. The only "flaw" you could say he has is that he is very curious (he's sometimes much more interested in exploring than he is in obeying you). However, his "naughtiness" is most likely due to his young age. He needs an active, attentive, loving owner!
This is William Tell (Willy). He is truly a special dog...he got his name due to his front paws which are bow shaped. He has been to the vet who thinks that he was malnourished as a pup. BUT don't be alarmed, this doesn't affect Willy in any way, he still jumps, runs, hikes and plays like every other dog. While under our care, Willy's legs have improved by 60% according to our vet. As his owner the only extra requirements are to give him his calcium tablets every day (he loves them!) and make sure his weight is kept under control. It is of no problem to him now, but it may become a problem when he gets old so this is something to keep in mind.
Now to the fun part... Willy is a great dog, he is about an 18 month old American Cocker Spaniel, so putting those 2 factors together you have a very active, playful and loving dog. Since he has been neutered he has calmed down quite a bit and has stopped humping all together. He walks well on a leash but might get a little excited if there's food around and drag you a bit.
Willy gets along well with other dogs, a few of our friends have dogs that we spend quite a lot time with. He will also try and stop while out walking to make friends with every dog he sees. The same goes for humans, he just loves people, of all shapes and sizes. He will try to jump up on them which can be alarming to people but he's just looking for love and has never shown aggression towards any person or dog. However, he is getting better about not jumping on people. He also loves to cuddle.
It is preferred that you would be living in the Busan/Gimhae/Changwon/Masan area but if not then I'm sure we can make arrangements.
If you have any questions or concerns about his paws, behavior or anything else please contact me, I'm more than happy to help

UPDATE: We have been working a lot with Willy on doing tricks and he has recently learned "roll over" and "play dead". He is also getting better with is obedience. He learns things very well especially if you offer treats as a reward.

Hi,
he is actually fostered in Gimhae, it's just outside of Busan, so we are pretty down south. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Hi geegcurtin, that's great news that you're strongly considering adopting Willy! To draw more attention to your situation and the need for a long term foster next spring, please consider writing a blog post about it here-- it will get your story on the homepage where more eyes will see it. Good luck!
