Ella Fitzgerald and Satchmo are two lovely kittens who were found together in Wonju, Gangwondo a couple of weeks ago. They have had their first immunizations and after some treatment, they are both healthy and free of worms and germs. As I said they were found together but it's possible that they are from different litters and slightly different ages. I suspect they may not be brother and sister because of their apparently different size, look, and special needs. However, they are quite in love with each other and would like to stay together if they can. I know Ella would really appreciate it. I know apartments are small and so on and I'm sure they'd be happy to have a good permanent home even if it meant being split up. They are about 2 months old and are doing well with being litter trained. They are a little messy with the litter and sometimes they miss and go over the edge of the box, but it all stays in that area and they don't have a problem with going somewhere they're not supposed to unless you move the litter box and they can't find it. I'd like to find them a home quickly because my landlord is showing my apartment to new buyers and every time she comes to show some one she opens all the doors and has no regard for whether the cats get out of the apartment or not. That, and I'm moving soon.
Satchmo is a boy and he has extra short, bristly fur. He's a sandy tabby color with cute leopard spots on his big round belly. He is smaller than most kittens in Korea and has shorter than usual legs. His nose is shorter as well, and it makes me think he might be at least a mix of some special kind of breed. He's really adorable and quite baby-like still. He absolutely can't eat just plain hard cat food (even kitten food). At first he would only take substitute kitten milk but now he will eat wet cat food mixed with dry kitten food. He was super sick when I took him in and both the vet and I were worried he wasn't going to make it for a while, but he seems to have made a full recovery now. Satchmo doesn't like to meow often and even when he does, he's not very loud about it. He's anything but pushy and just likes to wait and see what happens. He's not rowdy and isn't very interested in playing with toys a lot. He'd rather be held and nibble on your fingertips hoping that some milk will come out.
Ella Fitzgerald, or just "Ella," is a cute lanky young kitty. She has long legs and a long face like many other kitties in Korea. She has silky, soft fur like a regular domestic short hair kitten and a beautiful mostly black tabby pattern. She has 4 white socks, a white belly, and one white spot on the end of her nose. She is deeply and madly in love with Satchmo and often cries out for him. Ella is a lady who gets what she wants, so she is a bit on the vocal side. She cries when she's hungry and she cries when she's lonely, but she's not the kind to jump up and walk all over you when she really wants something. Ella is not picky when it comes to food and will eat just about anything you put in front of her. She's had good health and vitality and she likes to run around and play a bit. She also loves to get her bum and belly rubbed - she's a sucker for it every time.
They are kittens so they might be more open to things like babies, dogs, other cats, or lots of visitors but for now they haven't had much exposure to those things inside my apartment. Ella is probably a better candidate for sharing a house with other critters or people whereas Satchmo might not handle it as well, but you never know - kittens can be pretty adaptable. They are scared and hide from people at first but they warm up quickly. They are very used to being picked up and held and pet so there should be absolutely no problem with them acting in a wild, feral sort of way.
