For those of you who remember Big Haengbok, the super friendly Persian from the Ugidongmul Shelter on Jeju, I have some sad news to relate.
After having been adopted last year on Jeju and then moving to Canada when his owner returned home, his new life was cut short. This past summer he was diagnosed with acute renal failure. Although it was hoped that his condition could be managed with diet and a recovery/palliative program, he suddenly developed a secondary complication that could no be resolved and left him in a great deal of pain. His owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to have him euthanized.
Haengbok charmed all who met him, especially the veterinary staff at the hospital. It was a sad day for everyone the day that Happiness (Haengbok) slept.
We miss you big guy.
See you on the other side.

:( So so sad. But so glad he got to live out his final days in a home where he was loved. <3
