Harlow

Update (November 22): Whoo Whoo!! This beautiful girl was picked up by her forever family on Tuesday! So happy for Harlow, Yui, and Adam! Thank you guys for falling in love with her and offering her a second chance to live!

Update (November 11): Despite the horrible weather, Harlow got out for a walk today with her potential adopters! She did amazing though was so excited to get a walk, she was pulling quite hard and causing herself to wheeze. She is just the friendliest girl and warms up to everyone right away. She is such a friendly dog and really deserves a great home. She was happy today because she got lots of attention :)

Harlow (her Korean name is "Shepa") is a beauuuutiful German Shepherd....possibly a mix because she is on the smaller side for her breed. She is around 3~4-years-old and has been at the shelter for about half a year. She hardly barks, walks great on leash, gets along with the other dogs in her kennel, and is just the friendliest dog. She loves to jump up and give you hugs and kisses, and she loves, loves, LOVES belly rubs!! She is affectionate towards everyone and loves attention, but she does not get aggressive for attention (for instance, if you are ignoring her and are playing with the other dog in her kennel, she will sit calmly and wait her turn). I need to find out more information about her in regards to whether she is spayed or not, as I did hear she might be which would be an awesome bonus.

The ONLY issue I could foresee is some food aggression, not towards humans, but I did see her nip the other dog when she finished her food and was trying to eat from the other bowl. But this is understandable and so I would suggest if bringing her into a home with another dog, to definitely feed them separately. It will take some work and training, but she is so perfect in every other way, don't let a very fixable problem deter you from considering bringing her into your family.

She is great with both men and women, and has 2 kennelmates (well 1 now, the other was adopted) who are both smaller than her, one about half her size, and she shows no dominance over them. She is a highly adoptable dog, and would transition well into a home; the only reason I had not created a profile for her was because there were several interested parties as I was told, but none panned out (not because of her, I believe these candidates never even met her). I would also suggest she go to a home without small children, simply because she likes to jump up and she is a good size, so she could accidentally push a little kid over. But of course, this can also be trained out of her, but you must realize this could be an issue and be willing to put the time and effort into helping her improve.

Also, she is not spayed, and seems healthy but nothing is for sure and can't be confirmed because the dogs do not get health checks unless it's been sponsored.
