Milkshake, now Milky, was adopted on Nov. 11! Congrats little buddy. Thank you Bonnie for bringing him into your loving and warm home. Just in time for winter. We <3 Milky!
Listen up, folks, there's a new resident at Asan Shelter and he is an eye-catcher! Show-stopper! Heart-throb! (OK, You get the point...)
Milkshake is basically stunning. The Korean volunteers that came on Sunday were calling him "Minam (미남)" which translates to "handsome."
So what's he doing here? Mr. Park, the owner of the shelter, got a call from Asan City Pound mid-week and was told that he was about to be put down for being there too long :(((( So he rushed over and brought Mr. Milkshake/Handsome to Asan. We don't know much else about his short history, other than the fact that, judging from his appearance, he was raised indoors and well-taken care of by his people. Why oh why they never came to get him is a complete mystery to all of us : (
Now the bad news:
Milkshake is terrified. Poor dear, how can we blame him? One day he's sleeping soundly on a warm, clean blanket, and next thing he knows, he finds himself in an outdoor cage shivering and wet, wondering what the heck happened to his life. I could tell that he was hungry, but when the volunteers put a big bowl of food in his cage, he wouldn't even touch it. He was too nervous, upset, confused, and scared to eat. I finally decided to take him out of his cage hoping it would calm him down, and WHOA, how quickly he changed!! Within seconds he became the friendliest, cuddliest little guy. He stopped barking immediately and was so happy to be out in the open that he started running in circles! Not even the rain could slow him down!
Here's a video that one of the volunteers shot of Milkshake's first encounter with the ladies of Asan Shelter. I must say, we all are in love with Milkshake.

So.... if someone out there is looking for a loving, perfectly healthy, beautiful and energetic young dog, why not consider Milkshake? I would hate for him to stay too long at the shelter given his fear of the shelter lifestyle. Being there too long could traumatize a young dog like him. This dude so desperately wants to be a pet again. Will someone out there welcome him into their home?

Milkshake is still shivering away in his new home: his dark, dank, cold cage at Asan Shelter. This little boy was so happy to be out of in the sun last weekend. He is just a bundle of love. He loves to go on walks, but if you hold him close, he'll fall asleep in your arms. No barking, no aggression toward other dogs. 100% adorable. He melts my heart. Milkshake, I hope you find your home soon. Just be patient! Someone will come for you!
