Hello,
I have a small shitzuh that I rescued in Korea four years ago. She was a good dog until two years ago when she was bit in the park. She has progressively become more aggressive towards other dogs. For a long time it was just barking but recently she's turned very angry and impossible to walk. Ive read lots of books and seen a trainer but I dont know what to do and it keeps getting worse-yesterday she bit my friend's baby in the face! I have heard there is a behaviorist here in Seoul but I am a stay at home mom and unfortunately I dont have any extra funds for this. Can anyone help? I can trade for things and I bake cookies! The only other alternatives I see are rehoming her or getting her put down, both of which Im really not keen to do! Thank you.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. I have two shih tzus and have rescued a few from shelters, and I've never seen aggression in any of them. Shih tzus are usually so happy-go-lucky and relaxed. Aggression seems to go against their basic nature as a breed. Have you had her checked for medical causes of aggression? This website has some suggestions. http://www.petforums.co.uk/dog-health-nutrition/91030-medical-causes-agg... If you can't figure out a better alternative, please don't get her put down. I coordinate adoptions at Daejeon Paws, and I'm sure we could take her in and try to work with her. As you can see, I have a soft spot for shih tzus. ;) If you want to talk about it, feel free to give me a call at 010-2533-1502.
