02/13/2012: Cody has been adopted!! And as a result of a few very generous donations from KAPS supporters, his medical expenses were paid in-full. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to Cody's rescue, he has found a wonderful loving family thanks to the contributions of many volunteers and donors.
********
This little boy is full of life! He's a bundle of energy and a social butterfly. The veterinarian guessed him to be about 2 years old.
Cody is great with other dogs and cats and he has even proven to get along fabulously with children (5 & up) - a rare trait in yorkies, which tend to be intolerant of youngsters. Cody has such a happy go lucky spirit there isn't an animal or human he doesn't get along with. He does have lots of energy and will need to go on daily walks --he's very much a big dog in a small body.
Cody has been with me as a foster since early December and he's come a long way health-wise in that time. When I received him from the shelter he had a bad cold, a matted coat and was severely malnourished (1.5kg). Thanks to his ravenous appetite, a bath and haircut, and lots of walks and play time with my dog and cat he's transformed into a happy, healthy and more robust little pup ready to settle into a forever home. He adores one-on-one attention, the more the better, and is eager to be someone's little prince.
Update, 22 December 2011: Cody had a follow-up vet appointment today and he is doing great! He has gained half a kilo and is up to a healthy 2kg, which is the ideal weight for his size and we don't expect him to gain any more. He received a round of vaccinations and is scheduled to be neutered next week. During the neuter surgery they will also remove his remaining baby teeth which are crowding his mouth.
Update, 30 December 2011: Cody had his neuter surgery on Wednesday. He required a more invasive procedure than a standard neuter, see here for more info: Check out here for more information: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/blog/adoptbullies/cut-codys-complicated...
Subsequently, he has been on round-the-clock bedrest recovering at home with daily check-ups at the vet since then, which is expected to continue for about a week. When he's fully recovered I will post some more pics.
Update, 10 January 2012: Cody is still looking for a permanent home, please send me an email or call if you would like to apply to adopt him. Happy New Year!
9 February 2012: Cody’s adoption fee reflects a necessary attempt to recoup some of his medical expenses while in foster care. He has received very thorough medical care since being placed in foster, to include x-rays, full spectrum blood tests, vaccinations and neuter surgery. All of his medical records will be turned over to his adopting family, so you can be assured he has no pre-existing conditions and spared the initial expense of routine tests, vaccinations and neuter.
Typically, when adopting an animal you can count on
Lower adoption fee = higher vetting costs after adoption,
Higher adoption fee = lower vetting costs after adoption.
Neither myself, nor anyone else that has been involved in Cody’s rescue will profit in any way from his placement in a permanent home.

Sweet little Cody is doing wonderful. He loves his big sister Yorkie, Daisy and he is great with my three young children. Especially my 22 month old daughter. He lets her hold him, brush him and carry him around. He does have some separation anxiety which is understandable and we are working through it. He is the greatest little guy and perfect match for our family. As we return to the United States we look forward to taking him to see his new home with a great big yard for him and Daisy to run in and chase the kids. A huge Thank You to ARK, KAPS and Sara for his rehabilitation and for helping us find him.

So cute. You did a really good job with Cody. Is it possible to do a trial adoption with this little guy to see if he adjust well into my home? If so do you know how I can go about that? Please let me know. Also working on the adoption paper work at the moment. Thank you.

We need your help, Cody has had some medical complications. Currently his adoption fee is lowered to reflect our hopes of raising fund for his complicated surgery. However, if the funds are not raised the adoption fee will likely have to be raised.
If you can spare eating out just once, in order to donate that (eat-out money) to Cody's care it would be appreciated!
Check out here for more information: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/blog/adoptbullies/cut-codys-complicated...
Remember fosters spend a lot of money to help an animal get healthy, in order to continue to foster we must recoup our vet expenses through adoption fees or sponsorship. When you help Cody, you are essentially helping another animal in the future. Once Cody is adopted, it will enable Sara to foster another animal.
Thank you for your consideration!
