Rescue story : Harley was adopted by an army family who gave her up to another army family with small children. The new family had their hands full with a new baby and could no longer give her the attention and exercise that she needed so they gave her up and we took her in as a foster.
We really like this dog. she's one of our all time favorite fosters. We've had no problems with her. She's great inside, does her business outside in the morning and at night, loves to eat, and gets along well with our 2 pitbulls. However, in the beginning she would try to hump our dogs every so often, so we always kept an eye out to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Fortunately, she doesn't try to do that any more.
We also discovered she has sensitive skin. She's allergic to certain shampoos and can't spend too much time laying on cement as this will cause a rash. We are not sure what other things cause this rash. Besides that Harley is doing great. We have taught her to lay, and we are teaching her to stay and she is picking it up quickly. She's a really obedient dog. Also, the last time we took her to the vet for a check-up there were other dogs and cats around her and she did just fine. No signs of aggression toward any of the other animals.
Please feel free to ask any questions!!! Hope Harley can find a good home as she really deserves it. We can't stress enough how great of a dog she is especially after all she's been through.

My dog (female) also tries to hump other dogs sometimes. It's a dominance thing. Bulldogs and other dogs with those wrinkly folds of skin often get skin problems and are more sensitive. I've read that gentle dish soap mixed with water and some glycerine makes a very mild shampoo. But it's better to just not wash too often or wash with just water. It's kind of sad when a baby enters the picture in a family so they have to shunt their dog off somewhere else. But Harley is very cute and sounds well-trained so she should be able to find a new home more easily.

Harley is doing well!! Besides her occasional skin rashes, she's perfectly healthy. She's a fun AND funny dog that loves to play and chill.

I have been in contact with Harley's foster parents who are out of the country on a family emergency. We are currently looking into adopting her. More to follow when her foster parents return to Korea.
