Like the other Jindos at Daejeon Paws, Ms. Jung rescued Pandora sometime between 2005 and 2007 to save her from being killed for meat. Since then adopters have overlooked her and she's missed out on a lot of socialization. When I first had a chance to spend time with this dog almost a year ago, I couldn't walk her because she was so skittish and nervous. Since then other volunteers have walked her and she's become very adoptable.
A year or so ago there was some discussion of sending Pandora overseas for adoption, but that didn't work out and the adopter decided to rescue a Jindo locally. Pandora has never shown any aggression, but because of her shelter background and her skittish nature I'm sure she'll need some time to adjust to life as a family member. For that reason, Pandora needs an adult-only home with no other animals where she can be the centre of attention.
Alisa/Brown took this picture of Pandora at the Asan shelter about a year ago. Hyunjoo/Sylvia took this more recent picture of her with Ms. Jung. Daisy95 provided a nice picture of Pandora out on a walk last winter.
Update: someone is interested in Pandora! Let's hope it works out!

A lady came all the way from Incheon to meet Pandora today, and she has decided to adopt her! She will be bringing her home as soon as she can arrange a convenient way to transport her. :)

Hmm. Maybe better wait until the adopter follows through with coming back to get her. Today she DID go to a pet shop to buy some supplies, so she certainly intends to take her as soon as possible.

Pandora is scheduled to go home on January 28 and I will change her adoption status once she has. I hear she's doing very well and is a lot calmer than she was when she first moved back to Daejeon.
