Little Bit was brought to Asan shelter from Busan Pound in December, 2012, with a group of other lost souls. I didn't notice her at Asan right away, because she was so shy and usually stayed on the outskirts of the action when volunteers were in the pen she was being housed in.
Little Bit lived at Asan with about 15 other dogs. Even though she got along well with her penmates, Little Bit was smaller and shier than her friends at Asan, and reluctant to come and say hello when people visited. It always seemed like Little Bit wanted desperately for some attention, but was too nervous to go about getting any.
One weekend during a shelter trip, I decided to try and get some new pictures of Little Bit. Taking pictures of just one dog in the "rehab" area of the shelter proves near impossible, since there are so many friendly dogs in there vying for your attention. I decided to try and catch Little Bit, hoping to relocate her temporarily for some photos.
Once I was able to get Little Bit into my arms, I was holding a very different dog. She completely relaxed into my body, and I could tell she knew this was what she'd wanted all along. After practicing on the leash and getting some new pictures of Little Bit, she sat in my lap and dozed off to sleep for about half an hour.
A few weeks later, I decided to foster her, and here we are today. Since leaving the shelter, Little Bit has been experiencing a plethora of things that she never experienced at Asan: cuddling, walking, more cuddling, car rides, and even more cuddling. She was a little nervous when we initially brought her home, but that melted away quite rapidly and she now struts around like she owns the place! Little Bit only uses the bathroom outside, and prefers short walks to long ones. (Actually, I think Little B. would prefer NO walks, but we can't have her getting fat, now can we?) She has been vaccinated, groomed, treated for an ear infection, and most recently spayed. She is a very healthy girl and will be ready for her forever home in a few weeks.
Little Bit would be perfect for someone who wants a dog they can bring with them to coffee shops or to travel around Korea. She is quiet and likes it in her crate (she stays in there when we are at work and when it's time for bed) but a definite requirement to keep Little B. happy is someone who likes to cuddle! Little B. only wants to be close to you, so if you're looking for a "velcro" dog, then she's it! That being said, if I am busy and can't give Little Bit immediate attention, she goes to her bed and sleeps.

Little Bit is a very sweet and loving dog. She has had a difficult life before coming to Asan. Little Bit quickly warms up to you. She loves to be carried around and wants nothing more than to be in your lap. Little Bit loves attention and likes to cuddle up with you. Come by the shelter and ask to see this lovely little girl. Little Bit will make a wonderful pet for the right family.

Little Bit is so sweet and shy. It would be wonderful for her to find a home where she could come out of her shell. Give this sweet dog a chance.

Sweet, shy Little Bit! It is so wonderful to see her come a little further out of her shell, week to week. Today she tackled walking on a leash --- and she did a GREAT job! Little Bit would love to have someone help her confidence grow!~ Please consider this gem.

Little Bit is settling in very nicely to her new foster home. She's had a bath, and spent some time getting acquainted with her new foster brother and sister. Up tomorrow: a trip to the vet to make sure this little sweetheart is healthy! Cross your fingers for Little B!

Little Bit had a busy day today! First up: a trip to the vet. I'm happy to announce that Little Bit is a very healthy little dog! She is heartworm negative, and has high antibody levels, which means she will only need one round of shots to bring her up to date on her vaccinations. She had some discharge in her ears but they weren't inflamed, so the vet cleaned them out and will check on them again this Thursday when we return to get her shots.
I was a little concerned because Little Bit hadn't peed since we brought her home yesterday, essentially holding in her pee for about 24 hours. I was relieved (and I'm sure she was too -haha-) when she finally went to the bathroom (outside!) this afternoon. She's had no accidents in the house and seems very uninterested in the pee pads I've provided, so I'm tentatively excited that she will be easy to housebreak.
She is getting along very well with my other dogs, that is to say she simply ignores them. (Despite my Jindo's best efforts to become best friends!) Outside, Little B. enjoys walking on her leash and sniffing around, but isn't sure how she feels about the different people she sees. She hasn't reacted aggressively or barked (she's an extremely quiet dog) but merely stops what she's doing to watch them pass. She is still very nervous, and I'm sure this new environment away from the shelter is absolutely blowing her mind. Inside, all she wants to do is lay around on the couch and be near us.
Overall, she has warmed up to myself and my boyfriend very quickly, and seems to be getting very comfortable here. I can already tell she is going to be an awesome little dog for someone lucky! If you are interested in Little B., please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Today is Little Bit's first day home alone. Let's hope she likes it in her crate and doesn't kick up too much of a (noisy) fuss! She sleeps in it all night like a dream, so I'm hoping she will do the same this afternoon. She does seem to be the laziest dog in the history of the universe, and she has my two dogs near her for company as well.^^

Little Bit is doing *so wonderfully* in her foster home. She is housebroken, crate trained, and quiet! She sleeps for about 80-90% of the time. Little Bit visited the groomer this week and she wasn't very happy with me initially, but now all is forgiven. :) She is becoming a lot less nervous and a lot more comfortable: we went on an "exciting" road trip around Korea this past weekend and Little B. was an excellent traveler. She didn't mind being in the car, and just curled up on my lap and went to sleep. We went for a nice long walk by the Han River today and Little Bit was walking like an old pro. She isn't as put-off by people walking towards her as she was just a week ago, and her transformation is truly astounding. This is not the same shy, skittish dog I knew from Asan shelter. This dog seeks you out for snuggles and pets, and loves any form of attention you will give her. She is a super low maintenance dog who is very sweet with a great temperament. Here is a Facebook album of photos of Little B.: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.918836118839.2283791.94802688&t...

Little B. continues to thrive in her foster home. She was spayed last week and is recovering well; her stitches will come out on Friday. Little B. is such a laid back, mellow dog, sometimes we forget she is here! She is perfectly content to just lie around either next to us on the couch or in her bed, and sleep. She has also recently discovered a love for chew-treats and hotdogs. :) She is one of the sweetest little dogs I've ever met and anyone who adopts her will be the luckiest person on the planet!

Hi all! I thought I'd post some pictures of Lady Bumble, formerly known as Little Bit. She has been with us for almost two months now, and settled in nicely with my family. Marley and Bumble have got on pretty well except a few occasional growling Marley over food and water. Bumble has been the easiest dog I have ever had in terms of toilet training, barking and separation issues. She only had 2 accidents on the floor a week ago, which was no problem at all what with linoleum floor and all. She likes going for walks with all of the family and does her business outside although she used pee pads in the beginning. She went to the beach three times this summer and quite enjoyed it although she was a bit stressed at times. Every time we came back from a trip she seemed to get more confident and comfortable with us. She is totally comfortable with her brother, Marley, and she was barking at Marley 20 minutes ago to get him to play with her. Although she is scared of other dogs, she is not scared of Marley at all. Although she is still fearful of people, buses, and scooters, I can see her confidence growing every day. She knows "sit", "stay", "lie down", and "Ewok" and waits for her paws to be wiped after walk. She also waits for the count before eating. I just want to thank Allison Young again for all her wonderful job for fostering Bumble. Thank you so much, Allison!
