On my way home from work, mid-February, I saw J.D. dragging himself across a busy road with his front legs. I thought he'd been hit, so I went back and picked him up and took him to the vet. X-rays indicated that nothing was broken, just that his muscles looked a little swollen. He was tested negative for both heartworm and FIL/FIV. Although for the first 2 weeks or so, he was almost completely unable to move his back legs (just a toe twitch now and then), J.D is well on his way to being a completely normal and healthy cat. He no longer drags himself and just walks a little bow-legged. He gets up and down off the couch with no problem. He and my cat love to play and he gets along just fine with my dog. He's extremely loving, has a great appetite, and has no problems moving around, especially when he wants my attention. He's fully litter trained and is completely comfortable using a crate or carrier. I haven't trained him to stay in a crate, but I'm sure there would be no problem doing so. He's also been fixed, so you won't have to shoulder the cost or worry about any kittens! I've also discovered he's fond of toilet water. However, due to his "iffy" back legs, the lid needs to stay shut, or he will fall in!
J.D. is a very friendly and loveable cat, and would make a great addition to your family. He's come a long way since the day I picked him up, and he deserves to find his forever home.

Hi Kristie, that poor darling! Thanks for saving him! I wonder if there is a vet like mine who would try acupuncture on him like we did with Richie? I wish I could take him but Noodle hates cats :(
If anyone in Cheonan would be willing to take him, we really had success with Dr Choi at Any Pet Animal Hospital and Richie. (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/dog/400)

The picture is so striking! Just wondering did the vet give you any "nerve medicine?" I am still not sure what they gave Peanut: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/dog/326 but he couldnt use both of his right legs when he first came home....the vet did scans/xrays too and nothing was shown. And then he prescribed what he dubbed as "nerve medicine" and within two weeks he was walking pretty normal.
I wish I could find an acupuncturist here for Peanut Clare, I think it would help him as two day he has a side ways gait ^^ But no one in Daegu that I now how the equip for doggie acupuncture.
Good luck John Doe!

no, i haven't given him any special medicine, but he seems to be healing pretty well on his own. he makes an effort to walk all the time now, so i think he'll have a full recovery without any outside help. and thanks :)

Does he do well being left alone? What's his personality like? Do you think he could handle the stres of a flight for over 12 hours? I've had my eye on him for a while, so I'm just curious before I start deciding if I want to adopt :)

The closest he's come to being alone is being locked in the bathroom solo during the night. He yowls a little, but quiets down pretty quick. If you'd like, you can do a trial run with him to see how you get along. I think he would be ok on a long flight. He does very well in a crate and barely makes a peep. I actually think he enjoys the crate, especially when he's in an unfamiliar place (ie: airplane). As for personality, once he warms up to someone, he loves them. It doesn't take long until he's snuggled up next to you, licking you to death. Where are you located? We can set up a visit if you want.

I live all the way in Mokpo so a trial run wouldn't be the easiest. I'm just wondering about his personality. Is he silly? In need of a lot of attention? I just want to make sure he will be comfortable with my living situation.
