What a beautiful boy! I knew he would get adopted really soon!
Hello~!
This is Smeagol! He is a Pomeranian Mix that was saved right before he was going to be killed at the shelter where he was living for awhile. The vets said that he was severely beaten and has been malnourished all his life. He is quite nervous with people but only having him 2 weeks he has warmed up to me quite a bit and hasn't left my side. I am currently working on getting him at optimum health and quite a bit fatter! He isn't much of a barker, but will sound the alarm when someone knocks/ rings the doorbell or comes into the apartment. While he is mostly house trained, we are working on being much more consistent about that as he has frequent accidents. He is currently suffering from a bout with ear mites but with one week to go until his next treatment I'm sure he'll be fine soon. Also great news: He is HEART-WORM NEGATIVE!!! Having just adopted little Wombat and being single I can't provide him with all the care he needs and I just couldn't leave him in the shelter never having experienced good food and a nice home. If you are willing to become his "precious" let me know! He really needs to have a forever home. I would prefer to have someone adopt because he gets attached quite easily, but a new foster home would also be good as he loves Wombat, but Wombat isn't to keen on him licking his ear all the time or trying to become more.. "intimate" if you will. kk He's a wonderful boy that needs a forever friend.

OH. MY. WORD. I have fallen in LOVE!! He is just too gorgeous for words and his name makes him even more-so!! Thank you for taking him in! I can't adopt or foster at the moment as I have 2 already, but I will definitely "share" on FB. Please keep the pics coming, and say hi to Wombat :)

Thanks for the comments! Clare_bell! Anything would help at the moment!! Wombat's really not liking this guy! I told him you said hi and he says squeak-squeak back.kkk
SO as for lil Smeagol, I took him and Wombat to school today! Wombat was a little shy but warmed up a bit once treats were given out. As for Smeagol.... I'd have to say that the person taking him has to have kids old enough to understand how to deal with an abused dog. He is really skiddish with the kids and when they looked him in the eye, were making bark noises, and yelling he freaked out and started snapping at them. I think he will do best in homes with only adults or with older kids that will know how to treat him well.

I <3 Smeagol. From my own experience with my fostering, with time these type of dogs will just shine. They will make the most loyal and awesome companion you can imagine. As they learn new experiences and expand their socialization they get even better....just like wine gets better with time ;) He may never do well with young children, but that doesn't mean he cant go on to have a happy family life. Fostering is all about figuring an animal out and advocating for their needs. And with as sensitive as you are with him, I have no doubt a success story is around the corner!

Lunatokki - perhaps change your title to indicate the need for an urgent foster. Always helps :) I wish I could help you but I have my hands full with my own. I will share on FB and many others will too...hopefully someone will step up!

!!! That sucks!! Please let me know if nothing comes available. I have two dogs at this time, which is a bit of a handful, but I really don't want the poor guy going back to the shelter, so I may be able to foster for a short time in an emergency.

I got to babysit Smeags a little while ago and it was so great to see him! He was so healthy and fluffy :D It was bittersweet to have to let him go back to his mom's but the time we shared was priceless.

Thanks clare_bell! He really looked like a totally different dog! I seriously didn't want to let go of this happy-go-lucky guy! His new owner though is an angel and you can tell by how different he looks! I'm so happy for him. ^^
