UPDATE JULY 11, 2012: Good news everyone! Snowflake's adoption is set to happen, and she will go to her new home on July 21st! Thank you to everyone who helped her out. It's a great thing^^
UPDATE JULY 9, 2012: Snowflake went to the vet last weekend and got her first vaccination. The vet said her teeth/mouth look good! Great news! Since moving can be stressful on an animal, the vet said her new home should, just in case, check for signs of stomatitis in case it comes back due to stess. Also great news ~ a family wants to adopt Snowflake! Updates to come.
**URGENT UPDATE!!!
Snowflake's foster mom is leaving at the end of July, but just found out (7/4/12) the kitty needs to be out in two weeks because her landlord doesn't want to show an apartment while a kitty is still living there :/ Thus, SHE NEEDS A HOME BEFORE JULY 20TH.
__
Snowflake has always been an eye-catcher.
During Snowflake's many years at an animal shelter (she's about 5 years old), she caught the eyes of volunteers with her stunning look and regal, friendly demeanor. She was always friendly with the other cats at the shelter. Now in foster care, Snowflake's foster mom said she is as friendly and as cuddly as ever (though it took a few weeks for Snowflake to become fully comfortable in the apartment).
Snowflake was taken into foster care in late February because her condition had deteriorated (she'd lost some weight and wasn't grooming herself). A vet in Seoul diagnosed her with stomatitis, inflammation in her mouth which can cause mild to severe pain. Because of the mouth pain, she wasn't eating much and couldn't clean herself.
Luckily for Snowflake, her stomatitis wasn't as severe. Still, she needed to get her back molars removed so she could eat pain free. The surgery happened in early April, and Snowflake is doing well!! She needs to eat wet food (or dry food mashed up with water). (Updates will come as she continues to visit the vet.)
She started her vaccinations in early July (the vet wanted to wait until she was healthy), but also started her vaccinations while at Asan, according to the shelter owner.

She's a really sweet girl that need a loving, permanent home! She's spayed and healthy now :)
If you're interested in fostering or adopting Snowflake, please fill out the adoption form (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application) and send it to [email protected].
Thank you!

This is what Snowflake's foster mom has said about her/her progress:
"Snowflake is currently living with her foster mother in Seoul. She is a sweet cat who has lived in a shelter most of her life. She was shy when first moving into the apartment, but now she is outgoing and loving. Sadly, she recently had 4 teeth removed due to a mouth issue; she has now fully recovered, and lives on a diet of wet food. If she isn't sleeping at the foot of the bed, she's snuggling under the covers. Snowflake is a wonderful pet, and would make a wonderful addition to any household."

Snowflake needs a new home in a month or so! Please consider fostering or adopting her. We don't want her to go back to the shelter. She does need to eat wet food, but other than that, she is healthy!
Thanks~

How expensive is it to feed her every month? I imagine a diet of purely wet food is a little more expensive than just one of dry food :/

I don`t know snowflake and her situation but I am guessing you could probably just buy your own meats, blend them up for her and create food that is much healthier and a lot less expensive than canned foods.

Hi ~ sorry for the delay, but my friend fostering her said she spends about 60,000won/month on food. If you search on GMarket, though, there seems to be decent deals on wet food (I just searched "cat food"). Yeah, making our own food, or probably even mushing up dry food with water could work as well!

I am Snowflakes foster mom currently... she's one of the sweetest cats i've ever owned. I really hope to see her go to another great foster home! I have bought dry food and mashed it up for her and she eats that just as well as the wet food. 60,000W is an average... I buy the wet food from the foreign mart which probably isn't the most cost efficient. Checking online, and making your own is a great way to save money. Either way, it's been worth it for such a cute, and loving cat!! <3

Hi everyone, Snowflake's foster mom is leaving in less than a month and her landlord just told her Snowflake needs to be gone sooner than that :/ Can someone please help out and foster her until a forever home is found? The sweet girl can't - and shouldn't - go back to the shelter. Thank you for considering her!

Hi Leigh, my friend said Snowflake has never been mean to her. She hasn't been around kids, though. Donuts best to meet her first. Please fill out the application if interested and send it my way :) Thanks!
