Chloe!!
3/9.. Chloe is still searching for her ANGEL.. It appears Chloe has been at the shelter for a long time now.. and is very deserving of a place to call her own. Shes a low maintence girl, who desperately wants to love, and to have someone that will love her. In a nutshell shes; lovable, sweet, affectionate, loyal, mellow, dedicated.. and wants to provide you with ALL that plus lots.. lots.. more. Her eye has recently been fixed. Lets make the eye correction her first of many good happenings in 2012!
1/26.. Cutie Chloe would make a verryy nice Valentines gift :) (significant other approved first ofcourse, haha) If you are unable to foster/adopt.. even stopping by and spending some 1:1 with Chloe would make her day! She doesnt get very much attention with sooo many pups running around, and would love someone to give her a bit of extra lovin'
1/2.. Chloe is still available. Please, dont overlook this lady because she isnt "perfect" on the outside. She does have a minor eye issue, which makes the one eye quite smaller than the other - BUT shes simply, being herself. Chloe spends a great deal of her day playing "mommy" to the Asan pups, and hardly has any time to spend by alone. Shes easy going, loves to be rubbed and loves attention. Shes not the bouncey, in your face, going a mile a minute dog. Shes ideal for someone that can see past her eye and love her for being HER. Shes spent so much time, standing in the back while others get adopted.. now its her turn. 2012! Lets make this the year Chloe finds forever love, comfort and hope :)
Chloe reminds me of the old lady on each neighborhood block who; watches kids, makes delicious cookies, gives you bandaids if you fall off your bike, and ALWAYS provides the best advice! This girl is as easy going as they come. She watches all her other pen mates carefully, avoids trouble, and keeps the little ones out of harms way. When new people come up to their pen, she politely waits her turn for some attention.. BUT when given her chance takes in EVERY ounce of affection and love. Shes extremely laid back with an obvious big heart and personality. With all these qualities, she will fit perfectly into a home.. She doesnt require too much special attention -- just a willing mommy or daddy to look after her. (She'll save you from becoming that neighborhood lady...!)
Her weight is listed as "medium" -- but shes on the small end of that scale. Please consider this sweetie pie. If interested in fostering or adopting, please contact Sofia at [email protected]

Sofia, Chloe seems like such a loving, nurturing dog. Do you think she might make a good companion for Alexis? I'm happy with just Alexis if she needs all my attention but I thought since Chloe seemed so nurturing, they might make good friends in the times that I am not around. What do you think?

Chloe is in love with her best buddy, Nobu, however she gets veeeeeeery cranky around other dogs. Here she is with Nobu, snuggling in her favorite box. :)

Allison, that concerns me a bit - does that mean she likely wouldn't do well in a home with another dog? At the top of her profile it says she gets along well with dogs.

Hi Marla. Honestly, I'm not sure if Chloe would be okay with another dog or not. I'm not sure when she began acting so cranky and aggressive towards other dogs, I personally first noticed her reacting this way a few weeks ago. She is still feeling a little sluggish due to her heartworm treatment, so perhaps that's why she's been so mean to other dogs who walk by her cage, or it could simply be a protective thing with Nobu? When I visit the shelter this weekend, I'll try and get Chloe out of her cage and see how she reacts to other dogs when she is away from Nobu, out and about. :)

Hi there! I spent a bit of time with Chloe last weekend outside of her pen and I am still trying to upload the quick videos I took of her walking and being around other dogs (I am quite computer illiterate, you see...). She has definitely built herself a safe haven in her pen with her pal Nobu, and she seems very uncomfotable moving away from that area. I agree with Allison that Chloe's attitude toward other dogs outside of her pen stems from an instinct to maintain the comfort and order she perceives from the inside of the pen. During the short time I had her outside of her enclosure, we were visited by Elizabeth Taylor, and Chloe showed no signs of hostility or aggression toward Elizabeth, not even when the treats came out.
When I finally do get the video clips uploaded, I will let you know!!

Sidenote: if you want the videos to show up right in the post, use the "long link" to the video (on the Youtube video page, click "Share" > Options > Long Link, and use the URL that's in the box instead of the short one you've got.) :)

Is there someone who would be willing to take both Nobu and Chloe out for a walk TOGETHER to see how they react when other dogs come up to them? I've been wanting to adopt Chloe but I don't have the heart to separate her from Nobu so I am considering taking both of them. However, I'd like to know that they will be cool with other dogs.

Hey Marla! So we *tried* to walk Chloe and Nobu today --- but those two gals just weren't having any of it! The good news is they are now being housed with two other dogs and there don't seem to be any problems. Nobu and Chloe are definitely super-bonded; it would be amazing if you could somehow work taking them together! Here is a video of us trying (in vain!) to get those stubborn broads to walk:

Actually, it's Nobu that I'm worried about most! Chloe would get to be part of a family but how would Nobu feel alone at the shelter without her best buddy around to make it ok?! It would be terrible for her!! I'm trying to make it work but unfortunately I can't guarantee anything. :(

Chloe made it home to Jindo today! I took her to the vet as well and turns out she only has one eye ball. I'm guessing the other was removed pretty recently but Mr. Park told me today that she has both eyes. The vet said she doesn't. I guess it'll have to be a mystery as to what happened to it! She also has a really bad inflammation of the ear canal and a growth on her back - the vet said the growth could just be as a result of her heartworm injections or it could be more. Time will tell. She also got her first vaccinations today! It was a very busy, very long day for her!
Right now, she is chilling out in her crate and getting comfortable with her surroundings. My dog, Alexis warmed up to her immediately but my kitten, Gray is NOT happy with her! He loves Alexis so much but I guess it's a different story with a new dog. Pictures to come soon! :)

She is now shaved (it took some work to get through all those THICK mats), bathed, fed and resting after her ordeal! She was the best little trooper ever! She just stood quietly and let me shave her and bath her. No fuss, no shaking, no crying - no problem. She has explored a bit but mostly she's just staying in her crate. I certainly won't push her to come out tonight. Poor thing has been through so much!! And to top it all off, she has to go around looking silly after I took away all her hair. I'm sure she's A LOT cooler though!!!!

In the first picture above, it is Alexis sniffing Chloe. Chloe is the one in the crate. Hard to tell them apart - they look quite similar but Chloe is definitely larger and thicker! ;) They are getting along fine right now. Hopefully Gray will come around! Here's one more picture. I'll hopefully get some better ones in the days to come!

Chloe is still pretty shy and hesitant. She stayed most of the time in her crate today. Alexis, being the sweetheart that she is, joined Chloe in the crate for a little (I think to try to comfort her). Of course, Gray had to join in on the fun - in his own way! :)

Chloe had the courage to come out of her crate last night and pop up on the bed with the rest of us. It was crowded but perfect! The girls slept next to each other (Alexis is on the left) and Gray found his way to his preferred location on my pillow next to my head.
