Hi everyone,
In the recent storms that lashed Korea, the roof of Daejeon Paws was badly damaged. The roof had some minor repairs over a year ago, but it was not strong enough to withstand the heavy storms that hit Korea in the past couple of weeks.

I want to apologize for this long post but I wanted to share a very unfortunate experience I had with a vet clinic in Seoul (Gangnam) recently. Two months ago, I adopted a beautiful 7 month old Golden Retriever from a shelter in Pohang. The vet clinic I took him to (not the particular doctor who treated my dog) came highly recommended from members of ARK.

Found running in and out of traffic in Wonju, Gangwon-do. Poor Unijoheun, after life as a chain dog, he had no idea how to stay safe around cars. He was hit by a van and then caught and taken to the vet. Amazingly, he was unharmed by the accident, but it was found that he had stage 2 heart worms, ticks, and dermatitis due to life standing and sleeping on wet ground.

My landlord is a pretty chill woman. At least, that's what I gather, since she speaks only Korean, and I speak English with a smattering of Korean words (spicy, yes/no, it's raining, etc....)

Fostering: A Guideline for Foster Parents of Asan Shelter Dogs
Thank you for making the selfless decision to foster a dog from Asan Shelter. Once a dog is placed in foster-care, the chances s/he will be adopted are drastically increased, making fostering one of the most important steps in helping a dog find his or her forever home.

Adoption: A Guideline for Adoptive Parents of Asan Shelter Dogs
Thank you for making the decision to adopt a dog from Asan Shelter. Choosing to adopt a dog rather than buy from a pet store is the right decision. Rather than supporting cruel and inhumane puppy mills, you will be giving a homeless dog the loving home s/he desperately deserves.

Dobbie's foster family, the Alvarez's, have decided they want to adopt him but they are scheduled to leave Korea on July 19th. Since they did not expect to fall completely in love with Dobbie in the month that have been fostering him (We honestly thought that he would have been adopted by now bc he is so awesome!) they were not prepared for the financial costs of his trip home.
